If you’ve never enjoyed a glass of Four Winds Brewing’s Operis, then you’re missing out.
Described by the brewery as a Belgian-inspired Saison, aged in Okanagan red wine barrels, and chaperoned by a Brett yeast strain, Operis produces notes “straw and earth”. It truly is a beer of equal measure, either with a cheese and meat plate or a plate of pan-fried pork.
Available all-year, in 330ml four-packs, Operis awaits you at your local liquor store or at Four Winds’ brewery taproom, in Delta (British Columbia).
But every once in a while, the brewers at Four Winds get restless and do something fun, with their beloved Operis. That’s where Cherryoperis comes in.

Released mid-Winter, when thoughts drift away from Christmas and New Years, Cherryoperis is an exhibition of what happens when you take a mature Brett Saison like Operis and pair with sour cherries. The result is a beer that is fun, funky, and with just a hint of tartness that might inspire thoughts of cherry pie right out of the oven.
Like it’s parent, Operis, Cherryoperis is aged in Okanagan red wine barrels before undergoing a metamorphosis courtesy of of some Brettanomyces yeast, and Montmorency sour cherries.
At 7.3% ABV (alcohol by volume), Cherryoperis is available at Four Winds Brewing’s taproom and soon local liquor stores.
