Taking their birthday to the people, Baerlic Beer releases "Louder, More Punk Rock Double IPA" and "Better Together" West Coast IPA

Like so many birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and graduations, the global pandemic has forced many to rethink social gatherings. Undeterred, some have taken to the streets inviting cars, virtual meetings, and backyard events all six-feet apart or greater. As one of those impacted by COVID-19, the arbiter of the global pandemic, Baerlic Beer is adapting by celebrating their anniversary in a unique way.

Seeing as our 6th Anniversary Celebration on June 28th just isn't possible this year, we're having a do-over mashup of our first 5 Anniversaries! Over the month of June we'll be releasing some blasts from the past AND a several new beers that reflect what we've learned over the last 6 years!

Starting this past Friday, May 30th, supporters of local businesses, local breweries, and yes (even supporters) Baerlic Beer can order the first of several beers. Starting with fresh cans of “Louder, More Punk Rock Double IPA”, eager supporters can purchase online for “Prepay’N’Pickup” or “Home Delivery”.

A beer brewed with malts Weyerman Pils, Wheat, TF Oat, and Bob’s Rolled Oats, ‘Louder has a sturdy frame to support 7lbs. (per barrel) of Oregon hops including Strata, Amarillo & Chinook. The result is a beer that is dank, with notes of passionfruit, a distinct pine character, but overall a beer that is resinous and outstanding! At 8% this is a sipper but shouldn’t stop those WFH from enjoying one anytime, more or night.

For co-owner Ben Parsons, the inspiration was easy to come by.

"Like everyone, we're pretty bummed with this whole global pandemic thing, but that doesn't mean that we can't make the best of it. And although we can't properly celebrate our anniversary this year, what we can do is what we love to do best—make some damn delicious beers! So we start things off with Louder, More Punk Rock Double IPA, which is a 'turned up to 11' version of our Punk Rock Time IPA."

Following up “Louder, More Punk Rock Double IPA”, the brewery will release other favorites of staff and brewers, and some recently thought-up releases.

For co-owner Ben Parsons, he couldn’t be happier to get things rolling.

“I'm really excited to finally get some of these ideas out in the world and even more excited to get past all of this and be able to throw a proper damn party! Until then we keep on keepin' on together!"

Following up on Louder, the brewery plans to release “Better Together”, a West Coast IPA made with Citra, Strata, and Mosaic hops.

By themselves, these hops bring versatility to any beer but together it’s a tropical party in Caribbean with notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and an intense dankness. At 6.7% the beers abv (alcohol by volume) comes courtesy malt workhorses Pilsner and 2-Row, backed up by Wheat and Oats.

Available for purchase online, get your hands on Better Together and Louder, More Punk Rock Double IPA or any of Baerlic Beer Company’s current releases.

About Baerlic Brewing Company

Say bear-lick…like a bear licking the foam off a frosty mug. Etymologically, it’s an old-english adjective meaning “of barley.” As in there’s beer and then there’s baerlic beer! But feel free to use it whenever you want to describe something that you can’t get enough of. As in: “These waffles are baerlic!”
