As the temperatures start their upward ascent into Spring, the urge to get out of the house grows. For some, this is a simple walk around the neighborhood or a hike nearby. For others warmer temperatures are a reminder to clear out the weeds, mow the grass, and prune the shrubs. But whatever your activity is, you more than likely have a “go to” beer. Hood River’s Double Mountain knows this, which is why they are asking you to give their “Go-To” Lager a shot.

Fermented for three months, in the basement of Double Mountain Brewery & Cider’s Hood River location, Go-To is a carefree lager for those looking for something refreshing.

Brewed with Brewers Gold hops and Biscuit malt, this beer is unassuming and asks nothing from you other than your appreciation for its simplicity. As head brewer, Matt Coughlin puts it:

Sure, IPA’s and big Belgian beers are great. Do you know what else is great? A beer you can go to for some quick and light refreshment. A beer good with any meal, or any time of day. I’m not saying you should drink this beer in the shower after a long day outside, but you totally should.

Available at both Double Mountain & Cider taprooms, in Hood River or Portland’s Woodstock neighborhood, this 4.8% ABV (alcohol by volume), 15 IBU (international bittering units), will complete your day.

Oh, and on those bottles?

REDUCE, REUSE, REPEAT!

With news appearing throughout media outlets on the shortcomings of recycling and OPB reporting that Oregon recycling is on the decline, we determined that there is no better time than the present to share the information on why to choose refillable bottles. Complimenting this delicious experimental series, each beer’s label highlights the benefits of using refillable bottles. The carbon footprint of refillable bottles is vastly lower than other container choices, making it the best container for the environment. Add the benefit of reduced oxidation, and refillable bottles are better for the beer too. Reduce, Reuse, Repeat, a solid mantra, not only for refillable bottles but containers in general.
