Escape from Indiana is the brainchild of Double Mountain owner, Matt Swihart, and Everybody’s Brewing owner, Doug Ellenberger, both of whom share a common background, having grown up in Indiana before seeking refuge in the scenic beauty of the Gorge. Inspired by their journey from the flatlands to the mountains, the collaboration brings a unique blend of ingredients and ideas to the brewing table.

Crafted with a vibrant blend of Pilsner and specialty English malts, complemented by the delightful flavors of Amarillo and  HBC 630 hops, Basic Rights IPA delivers a mesmerizing combination of sticky forest and ruby red grapefruit notes, leading to  a pleasantly balanced bitterness. 

Head Brewer, Greg Balch, expressed his excitement about collaborating with his peers to create this beer and curate the playlist. The allegory of Alice’s journey down the rabbit hole inspired the playlist, which is intended to complement the beer’s character. Greg hopes that everyone who tries Go Ask Talus will discover something new and intriguing.

First off, we wanted to get some of that same color without the use of crystal malts. Enter Red X from Best Malz, a German malt that provides nice red and orange color without the caramel notes. This keeps it rounded and balanced, but without the perceived sweetness that can come from crystal malts, providing a good springboard for the hops.
