Celebrate local breweries and Earth Day, during the Latona Pub's "Handtruckin' Earth Week"
Make no mistake regarding Earthy Day, it is not on April 20th. Truth, one cannot resist the adolescent snicker that escapes from one's mouth when they envisions millions of tie-dye-wearing, smokers on a day that is really just a normal Saturday (2019). Rather, we want to encourage all to recognize that April 22nd IS Earth Day. With this in mind, we want you to consider not only your own impact on the environment but look forward to a unique opportunity to support your two loves, beer and the earth.
Situated at the intersection of Latona Avenue and 65th Street (at 6423 Latona Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115), the Latona Pub has been a fixture in the Greenlake neighborhood for over 30 years. Long-known for their staunch support for independent, craft beer, the Latona Pub is also known for their Earth Day keg walk which encourages local breweries to deliver their beer by hand-truck or other carbon-neutral methods. In previous years breweries like Astoria's Fort George Brewing Company shipped their beer via bike while Gig Harbor's 7 Seas Brewing Company shipped their beer via kayak. Starting April 13th, 2019, you will have a chance to cheer on local breweries as they travel from brewery to brewery, joining brewers and brewery staff, on their journey to the Latona Pub each day until the conclusion on April 22nd when the Latona Pub celebrates Earth Day with you and numerous breweries.
