… Naked City is incredibly grateful to all the craft beer lovers, families and neighbors who have supported the Brewery over ten years. Thank you!

Naked City has a bundle of exciting news to celebrate, including anniversary parties at both pubs, a new Mug Club in Greenwood, and the big announcement that most Naked City beers are gluten removed. Naked City is also running a photo contest for the best memories of Naked City—the winning entry gets a prize package valued at $300 that includes a Greenwood Mug Club Membership. All eligible entries must be submitted via Facebook by October 14.

Come on down and “Do the Décima” on Saturday, October 20, at the Greenwood pub, with flights and samples available of all ten Naked City anniversary collaboration beers. Try each unique 10-for-10 beer brewed with Pike21stAmendmentSilver CityFarmstrongLazy Boy,VarietalFlying Bike/Lantern/Lowercase, Aaron Blonden, Tomas Munoz, and Larry Rock. Customers who complete a Décima punch-card will receive a complimentary 10th Anniversary beer glass.

The Greenwood party features Louisiana-inspired food specials and a petting zoo with Madison Grove Farms. Bring the kids to hang out with the rabbits, goats, and miniature horses. At 3pm, 3-Play Ricochet plays live bluegrass in the Screening Room, followed by the legendary California punk roots duo Dead Rock West at 8pm.

Surprise! Naked City has been secretly removing gluten from most of its house-brewed beers for nearly two years. During this time, Naked City’s pub in Seattle has been the highest-rated brewpub in Washington on Ratebeer.com. Naked City is brewing the same great beer you love—the announcement doesn’t change a thing! Unless you’re keeping an eye on your gluten intake. Naked City beers are gluten removed using Brewer’s Clarex®, a natural way to break down the gluten in malted barley to less than ten parts-per-million.

And to celebrate ten great years of beer with friends, the Greenwood pub is launching its first Mug Club. There are many sweet perks for Club Members—find out all the details at the anniversary party and get the Early Bird Special on a 2019 Membership, which includes two free months! Folks can also pre-order limited edition brewer’s shirts, and pick up special anniversary t-shirts, Yankee Drifter 6-packs, and the 2018 vintage of Naked City’s award-winning The Big Lebrewski, available on draft and limited edition 22 oz bottles.

The Décima party continues at the Camano pub on Saturday, November 3, with Décima flights and food specials. Both Naked City pubs feature the best beer, food, and culture in the region, with award-winning house and guest beers, wines, and ciders alongside gourmet comfort food prepared in kitchens with gluten-free fryers.

Reuben's Brews 6th Anniversary Celebration at Brouwer's Cafe

Reuben's Brews 6th Anniversary Celebration at Brouwer's Cafe

From his humble beginnings as a garage homebrewer, thanks to a thoughtful gift from his son, Reuben, Adam Robbins has always looked to create the best brews he could. After using family, friends, and strangers to test his recipes – and winning a silver medal at a national homebrew competition – he embarked on his own full-time beer journey alongside his wife, Grace, and brother-in-law, Mike.

That was 6 years ago, and by all accounts, he has been incredibly successful in both the local and national beer scene. He has gone from a small 7-barrel brewhouse tucked away in Ballard, to two brewhouses, 15-barrel and 30-barrel, capable of upwards of 13,000 gallons of beer a year. That’s enough beer to quench the immense thirst of Washington drinkers.

The team at Reuben’s has been heavily involved in the community since the inception of the brewery. It has been a point of pride for them to be good stewards and friends of their fellow neighborhood residents. You can frequently find Reuben’s beers at almost every beer festival or other community gathering where fine beer is poured.

We’ve always been huge fans of the work they do in Ballard and in 2015, they created Gobsmacked, an amazing IIPA, for our tenth anniversary. More recently, we have been partnering with them to produce Triumvirate, our double-gold medal winning house beer, for over two years now. We couldn’t be happier to have the relationship we do with the team at Reuben’s and we are excited to be able to celebrate their 6th Anniversary with them. Come out on August 3rd to congratulate Adam and the rest of the family on six years of making bloody good beer.

3rd Anniversary at Hellbent Brewing Company

  • Hellbent Brewing Company (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

It's that time again. Time to celebrate another year with Lake City Way's Hellbent Brewing Company. Started in 2015, Hellbent was started with the goal of giving Lake City and North Seattle choices on where they had a beer. Based on the positive feedback and a brewery not willing to rest until it's made every style and come up with every name, we think they will be around for years to come. But enough about forecasts, let's talk about June 9th.

Starting at 12 pm, the brewery's taproom opens with their usual assortment of beers, as well as two new ones in Anniversary IPA and Peanut Butter and Jelly Stout. Besides beers, the brewery will host food trucks Lil J's SuperDawgsIsland blends acaiMoonshine-BBQWicked Good Grinders, and Bella M'Briana Food Truck. Finally, guests should expect entertainment from Collection of Lone Souljahs -Island Reggae, Alki Jones LIVE -Rock, Brass Monkeys - and Beastie Boys Tribute

Unfortunately, all will come to pass at the stroke of around 12 am, as they brewery looks forward to their 4th year, in 2019. For more information on music and food truck start/stop times, as well as this year's limited release beers, continue reading below.

Hellbent Anniversary IPA. 7% ABV | 63 IBUs

In honor of Hellbent's third anniversary we have produced an ultra premium IPA to celebrate. This beer bursts with citrus followed by a pungent pine punch and finishing with mellow tropical hop aromas. It is unfiltered for maximum hop flavor.

Small Tank Series: Peanut Butter and Jelly Stout. 6.4%

Peanut butter and raspberry are added to this light-bodied, “summer stout” to make your inner child giddy with delight.

But rather than make a big deal of it, the brewery is keeping things casual with $3 pints all day.

Nope, that's it. Just stop in May 8th, drink a few pints and maybe by a shirt or something.

BREWVANA 7th anniversary at Royale Brewing

Press Release

PORTLAND, ORE.  ... BREWVANA is celebrating seven years of supporting and promoting the history and culture of the craft brewing industry in Portland Oregon! The anniversary party will be at Royale Brewing (55 NE Farragut St, Portland, OR 97211) on Sunday, April 8th from 2 to 6 PM.  The event is all ages, with music and fun for all. A free shuttle will be provided from SE Growler Guys (816 SE 8th Ave #109, Portland, OR 97214) to the event. The shuttle will pick up roughly every 30 minutes. The event is free and no RSVP is necessary.

BREWVANA was born out of a passion for craft beer. Ashley Rose Salvitti served beer at breweries in Portland before buying a short bus and committing to introduce guests visiting from all over the world to the city's thriving craft beer industry. In 2011 BREWVANA hosted the inaugural tour on Friday, April 8th visiting four locations: Cascade Brewing, Green Dragon/ Buckman Botanical Brewery (now Rogue Eastside), Laurelwood Brewing Company and Upright Brewing. Lisa Morrison (the beer goddess) was talked into hopping on the bus at the 2nd location and reading from her book Craft Beers of the Pacific Northwest while guests enjoyed lunch.  Brewmaster Chad Kennedy and Shane Watterson served specialty beers out of the walk in cooler. Participants had a great time and they've all been on tours since then. The tours have evolved over the years to include more beer education, new breweries, new tour options including walking and private tours. One thing remains the same - guests leave buzzing in the euphoric state of BREWVANA, with a new appreciation for beer.

"I played tour guide for fun and now I get to do it for life!" says Ashley Rose. "What I love the most is collaborating with our beer friends. We provide an opportunity for our partners to tell their story, showcase their brand and introduce future fans to their new favorite beers." BREWVANA works with thelocations to create the best experience possible for their guests. The company has been featured on the Travel Channel and Start Up and has a string of 5 star reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor. "I can't wait to see what the future holds for BREWVANA, as Portland grows as a beer destination."

ABOUT POPULUXE BREWING:
Co-founders and husband/wife Peter Charbonnier and Amy Besunder started Populuxe Brewing in 2012. Peter had been a home brewer for many years and as his brewing equipment began to outgrow their garage, they began to seek out a commercial space. They found a slightly larger garage within two blocks of their longtime home in Ballard and after 8 months of rushing home after work to do demo and construction, filling out paperwork with various government agencies, piecing together furnishings and basically DYI'ing together a brewery, they opened the doors to their nanobrewery. They entire project cost the couple less than $30,000.

The immediate response was overwhelmingly positive with neighbors praising the quality of the beersand the casual and fun environment. Populuxe hosted family happy hours, live music, local artists and the best food trucks in town. Populuxe is also home to Ballard's largest beer garden.

In 2016 a larger space became available on the same lot and Peter and Amy decided to expand. In September of 2017, Populuxe moved across the beer garden to a state of the tasting room complete with a full arcade. This project cost a whole lot more than $30,000.

Kells Brewery Anniversary at Kells Brewery

PORTLAND, Ore. – Kells Brewery is observing its fifth anniversary this month and the pub is marking the occasion with a celebration on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 3 p.m.to close. Festivities will include live music, a Rose City Futsal arena in the parking lot, discounts on the newly released Kells IPA six-packs, and the debut of Kells' two fresh hop beers, one of which will feature hops freshly picked from bines at the Kells Farm in Wilsonville.

This will mark the first harvest of hops from the Kells Farm; the quarter-acre test plot, originally planted in 2016, included Chinook, Cascade and Centennial varietals. According to head brewer Garrett McAleese, “The goal is to grow one acre of the best yielding varietal while continuing to grow others in the test plot; we plan on eventually using the hops in our IPA  year round.”

The community is invited to help pick the hops off the bines at Kells Brewery next Wednesday, Sept. 13 beginning at Noon and continuing until all the hops are picked. The first five buckets filled with fresh hop cones will grant the picker a complimentary six-pack of Kells IPA in 12-ounce cans (one six-pack per bucket, no matter how many pickers involved). The hops will be added to two fresh hop beers that will debut at the Fifth Anniversary Celebration a week later, including an Amarillo Kölsch on tap and the Kells Farm-hopped Cascadian Dark Lager poured off the zwickle.

The celebration will also let soccer fans play pick up games in the Rose City Futsal portable arena in the parking lot. At 7 p.m., owner Gerard McAleese and lead brewer and pub manager Garrett McAleese will raise a toast in honor of the occasion. And local singer/songwriter Jordan Harris will round out the evening with live music in the pub from 9 p.m. to Midnight.

The Kells Brewery Fifth Anniversary Celebration is free and open to all ages.

"30 Years of Craft Beer" at the Latona Pub

For 30 years, the Latona has enjoyed the community that comes from supporting independently owned craft beer. Without that community, we'd never have made it as far as we have - and we'd have so many less stories to tell. On Saturday, August 19th, we'll be celebrating independent craft beer with one of the best tap lists you'll find in Seattle, made up of brews from our friends at Georgetown, Wander (who will be bringing something special out of their barrel room), Matchless, Three Magnets, Reuben's Stoup, Seapine, Anacortes, Cloudburst, and several others. Solo singer/songwriter Eric Miller will be playing from 7pm-9pm, and we'll be running BBQ food specials throughout the day.

Way back in the day - 1992, to be exact - Boots, Barrie, and Murray played every Friday night during happy hour. That torch was was eventually passed to bassist and bandleader extraordinaire Phil Sparks in 2009. On Friday, Phil will play an extended set at the Latona, followed by guitarist Leif Totusek - the first musician Bob ever booked at the Latona.

We've gathered up a bunch of our friends from local breweries like Cloudburst, Fremont, Two Beers, Stoup, Reuben's and Machine House (who specialize in casks) to bring you some unique, dry hopped IPAs.

"Out of Towner's Night" at the Latona Pub

We love Washington beer. However, there was a time - many years ago - where we had to lean on our friends from other states to get our hands on more than a handful of local unique hand-crafted beers. Back then, we turned to breweries like Rogue, Sierra Nevada, and New Belgium. We'll be pouring some classices like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - the gateway craft beer, if you will - as well as some really limited stuff like River Ryed IPA, New Belgium's Blackberry Oscar Sour, and Rogue's Luna Red Lager. Additionally, we plan to have some other fun surprises from outside of Washington state.

Tonight, visiting hours go until closing - and we'll be celebrating our friends from other states until the beer stops flowing.

"Legacy Brewers Night" at the Latona Pub

Pike Brewing, Hale's Ales, Big Time, and Maritime Brewing are cornerstones of the Seattle brewing community - without them, the craft beer community we all love so much wouldn't exist. On Tuesday, 8/15, we pay homage to the countless talented brewers who have supported us for the last 30 years.

The second night of our 30th Anniversary celebrate sees the return of Big Time's Bhagwan's Best IPA -  brewed by a collective who's who of former Big Time brewers like Dick Cantwell, Kevin Forhan, Bill Jenkins, Drew Cluley and current brewmaster Bradley ZImmeran - and a special Latona Pike IPA brewed on their pilot system. Additionall, we'll be featuring Supergoose, Maritime's Nightwatch Coldbrew Coffee Ale alongside offerings from the aforementioned brewers' current taprooms - Flying Bike, Beardslee Public House, and RAM Brewing.

Join us in celebrating the release of our 30th Anniversary Barrel Aged Latona Flemish Red. We’re truly enjoyed a mutal respect and friendship with Stoup’s head brewer/founder Brad Benson and his wife Lara Zahaba that extends all the way through the brewery - from brewer Robyn Schumacher, to sales guru Jason Bass, and everyone working day in and day out of the taproom. This beer is the result of that bond, and it’s been aging gracefully in barrels for over 8 months so that we can share it with you.

Anniversary Party, featuring Cloudburst Pudge The Curmudgeon at The Brewmaster's Taproom

Press Release

Renton, WA – The Brewmaster’s Taproom is turning one and celebrating in fashion with special beer releases starting at noon on Saturday, August 12th and continuing all the way until 11:00pm. Our anniversary beer is coming from our friends at Cloudburst Brewing out of Seattle, WA and we’ll be releasing our house beer from Manfish Brewing located just outside Renton, WA. We’ll also have giveaways all day.

Brewmaster’s has become a staple in the Renton community and it’s time to celebrate that we made it to our first birthday. Our owner, Marley Rall, is from Hawaii where they go all out to celebrate first birthdays, so we will be too! We’ll have giveaways every hour, expanded taps, special beers and a food truck! Don’t forget, we’re always kid- and dog-friendly.

Our anniversary beer is a tribute from one very special pup to another. Steve Luke, owner and brewmaster of Cloudburst Brewing owns a wonderful pup named Susan. Sus and Pudge were best friends that never got to meet, two peas in a pod if you will. As soon as we asked Steve if he’d be willing to do our anniversary beer, he came up with the perfect name. Cloudburst is known for its often off-color and comical names, but this time Steve immediately decided on something a little more special for both him and Marley – Sus Loves Pudge. You’ll be able to taste the love that these two pups had for each other in this beer only at our taproom.

Our long anticipated house beer has been months in the making and we’re very excited to be releasing it just in time for our anniversary – Pudge The Curmudgeon. This anniversary and beer is bittersweet for Rall who recently lost her pup, Pudge. Rall reflects, “We’re so happy to have made it a year and to be releasing this special beer. Pudge had been my best friend for the past 11 years and though she is gone now, this beer will be a fitting tribute to the most amazing brew dog to ever exist. This beer embodies everything we loved about her, her bitterness, her spite, her love of IPAs and who can forget her air of superiority. It will be a well-balanced - unlike the namesake - at 6.3% ABV / 106 IBU IPA, using simcoe, centennial and columbus hops.”

We will be expanding our tap handles from 21 to 26 and introducing two new permanent handles. The first is the long awaited Cloudburst handle followed up with one from Fremont Brewing. We’ve selected each of these breweries for very different reasons. Cloudburst is always coming out with fun new beers and they liked the idea of having a place outside of Seattle people can always find them and we’re very excited to be the ones to bring it to you. Fremont has a solid line up of beer with a large following and we were looking to partner with a brewery that everyone knows.
