Anniversaries are like birthdays. They are significant because it celebrates another year associated with an accomplishment be it negative or positive. They have often been associated with weddings, another year of business, or the occasional Super Bowl win (*yeah, we're looking at your Seahawks). Today, we are here to talk about another year for founders (and co-owners) Charles and Rose Ann Finkel); co-owners Drew Gillespie, Patti Baker, and Chef Gary Marx. It's also, for many who have relied on Pike Brewing Company, a time to celebrate a brewery and restaurant which has weathered multiple recessions, earthquakes, and personal setbacks. Welcome to Pike Brewing Company's 30th Anniversary.

Starting this September, in collaboration with brewers both past and current, Pike Brewing Company developed and is releasing Reunion IPA. Featuring Pilsner malt from Skagit Valley Malting, Reunion was brewed with classic and next-generation hops; including El Dorado, Centennial, and Warrior. Taking a page out of co-owner Charles Finkel’s hallowed history, the brewery selected "Charlie’s Fist Bump", a yeast-strain from White Labs which honors the father of DIY brewing and friend to many Pike Alumni - Charlie Papazian. The end result, according to the brewers in attendance, is a beer that will have a floral profile with notes of pineapple, grapefruit citrus, and stone fruit.

The brewery also invites all to stop into the Pike Pub, Tankard & Tun, and the Museum Room; in celebration of the brewery's 30th Anniversary - October 17th. Leading up and following, October 17th, the brewery will feature a "30 Beer for 30 Years" punch card with an offer to receive a "varsity-inspired Pike sweatshirt" (worth over $80, and fulfillment good through December 31st, 2019). Featured that day, the brewery turns back the clock to 1989 by serving up pints of their classics (including Pike Place Pale, Pike XXXXX Stout, IPA, and Reunion IPA) for $2.50; all while complimented by live music throughout the day.
