This year’s Boundary Bay Brewery Traverse Red IPA commemorates Recreation Northwest’s 15th Annual Vital Choice Bellingham Traverse on September 17, 2016.
“The foundation for our success over these past 15 years is attributed to the strong relationship that we have with Boundary Bay,” says Todd Elsworth, executive director of Recreation Northwest. “Together, we have continued to modify and improve the event for the community.”
Traverse Red IPA is the ideal beer for Late-Summer enjoyment. The ruby red color reflects the nature of the malt backbone. An exceptional blend of hops and malts create herbal, earthy and citrus aromas.
This super refreshing Red IPA commences with clean, citrus flavors and a touch of spiciness. The additions of Sorachi Ace & Cascade hops produce the herbal, pine finish. This well-balanced Red IPA is complemented by a firm bitterness that IPA drinkers will love!
Traverse Red IPA is now available on tap and in 22 oz. bottles.
The Traverse multi-sport race is a local, fun relay that celebrates the journey of wild salmon. In addition, the Traverse raises funds to maintain, improve and expand the Fairhaven Park Trail.
Families, friends and local companies form Chinook (solo), Coho (tandem) and CHUM (relay teams) to run, bike and paddle through Bellingham’s scenic parks, winding trails and open waterways. The Bellingham Traverse course includes the following legs: a run, mountain bike, road bike, trail run, paddle and a team trek that finishes at Boundary Bay. And the unofficial leg: enjoying a pint of Traverse Red IPA at the finish line.
“When I explain the course to people and what is involved in the multi-leg challenge, smiles and interest always come to their faces when they hear that there will be plenty of Traverse Red IPA waiting for them at the finish line,” says Elsworth.
