image sourced from our Flickr pageUnless you live in Arizona (where they don’t adjust their clocks) you probably adjusted your clocks, for the end of Daylight Savings Time. Like many things in the Fall, this reminder hastens peoples adherence to shorter days, colder evenings, and the prospect of more yard work.

An annual treat around the Puget Sound, George Hancock is eager to remind everyone that this year’s Jolly Roger Winter Warm is already on the shelves. Packaged in 6-packs, this year’s Jolly Roger Winter Warmer is waiting for thirsty, warm-minded, consumers to enjoy.

Christmas 2014 is coming on fast. With the recent release of the holiday ales in bottles, draft can only be next. Maritime Pacific Brewing Company’s own winter warmer is the prized Jolly Roger Christmas Ale. A rich malt-driven ale with a hop forward character, Jolly Roger is a great winter warmer made from a blend of malted barleys and wheat. Its distinctive flavor and nose is a result of blending 5 different malted grains: pale, crystal, carastan, munich and wheat along with 3 distinct Northwest hops: Cascade, Chinook and Amarillo. Sporting a 9 % ABV and a 52 IBU, this beer is eminently drinkable from the time it hit the market this year to even after 3-5 years of cellaring, something that some beer aficionados have begun to do with the bottled version. Jolly Roger on draft by Maritime Pacific is worth seeking out.

To celebrate the release of this year’s celebrity Winter Warmer, the brewery’s taproom (The Jolly Roger Taproom) will be hosting a party, November 11th. Starting at 5pm, the brewery will feature 5 variations of Jolly Roger; including vintages 2014, 2013. Additionally there will be barrel-aged versions of Jolly Roger including; Rum Oak Aged, Brandied Cherry, and a vintage 2013 Bourbon barrel-aged Jolly Roger.

Stop by the brewery from 5pm to close, to enjoy a nostalgic treat.
