Collaboration. It used to be synonymous with charities, family gatherings, and yes, even brewery releases. But now and again, a business in one segment of the community reaches out to another business, in a different segment, to collaborate. Today, businesses Triceratops Brewing and ONE Manufacturing are happy to join the ranks of those collaborating on something fun, a beer.

In historic Tumwater, the former home of Olympia Brewing Company, rests the gifted Triceratops Brewing. A baseball over the roof from another brewery, Matchless Brewing, Triceratops have been creating some waves with award-winning beers. Despite their relative inexperience, at less than 10 years old, the brewery has shown maturity with each of their releases.

Meanwhile, since 1986, ONE Manufacturing has become a trailblazer in the manufacturing of snowboards and snowboarding equipment in Belfair (Washington). Founded by Matt Cummins and Bryan Rushforth, the duo first met Triceratops co-owner Rob Horn, through a third-party, at the brothers’ Matt and Mike Cummins’ established business - Northwest Snowboards. A periodic sailor of the powder on his sled for one, Rob hit it off immediately with the duo.

“When we did our first winter waxing party [in 2018], they showed us support by donating snow wax so we wanted to do something for them,” says Horn. “Last year we made a hazy pale ale together, but Matt wanted a low ABV beer people could enjoy without getting hammered. We took the opportunity to really fine tune this Pils.”

Made with Salmon-Safe malt and hops, this Pilsner uses 2-Row barley from Mainstem Malt in Walla Walla, traditional hops - Citra and Monroe from Roy Farms - as well as an experimental hop. The result is a beer that is described as “crushable” with notes of spice, and floral, fruit. Either after a day or evening on the slopes, a hike away from home, or simply sitting in the backyard, ONE Pilsner is a rewarding sip at 4.3%.

It’s the one beer you’ll want in the cooler when your plan for the day is to shred, drink, repeat.

Oh and you better hurry, if you want to enjoy this unique collaboration between fan and enabler of snowboarding. Available at select retailers through Western Washington, in draft and 16-ounce four-packs, look for this wherever you find Triceratops beer. As always, this is available in 32-ounce crowlers and 64-ounce growlers at Triceratops Brewing’s taproom.
