Like the film that inspired its name, Mrs. Voorhees returns to inspire thoughts of horror films, breweries, and confections in beer.

For the uninitiated, Mrs. Voorhees was created by Tumwater (Washington) brewery Triceratops, as an homage to the maternal figure who gave us Jason and those slasher films. Announced several years ago, this Imperial Peanut Butter Milk Stout , pairs well with horror films, a friend, or a stranger.

For those who wish to dive deeper into the process, the brewery has shared some words.

Brewed with Pilsner malt from Skagit Valley Malting in Burlington, Mrs. Voorhees (8.1% ABV) arrives in time for the fall season and the single spookiest night of the year. But it’s the delicious combination of peanut butter and salted caramel that makes this Imperial Milk Stout such a treat. Meanwhile, selected specialty malts like oats, chocolate malt, and roasted barley give it depth and a rich, full body to balance the sweetness.

Available in limited quantities, wherever you find Triceratops other beers, look for Mrs. Voorhees on draft and in 16-ounce, four-packs, throughout Western Washington. In addition to locations throughout the area, the brewery will have draft, four-packs, and 32-ounce Crowlers or 64-ounce growlers for takeout.
