With the holiday weekend in your rear-view mirror, it’s time to look towards the traditional rite of passage in the Pacific Northwest, Summer. Much like our cold and brutal Winters, Summer brings in climate and sometimes frustrating weather. But with it comes the authorization to have a barbecue in your backyard, host a few people (with new social distancing in place), or sit back and listen to the sounds of nature and the outdoors. Al the more reason to stop by Cascade Barrel House or a local grocery store for an encore of Patio Paradise. Oh, you haven’t heard?
Released last week, during a period in which we focus more on equality and supporting awareness of a pandemic, the brewers and staff at Cascade Brewing Company released a fresh take.
Released in 12-ounce cans, Patio Paradise is a sour wheat ale, aged in oak barrels for up to 10 months, and then blended with hand-zested grapefruit peel, locally sourced basil, ground coriander, and Oregon coast sea salt. Oh and it’s available on draft.

Available in 12-ounce four packs or on draft at their two locations, Cascade Barrel House and the Lodge at Cascade Brewing, or throughout the region, the brewery is not only excited about this release but another one - “Sour Slushies”.
The brewery has also announced the upcoming launch of a new Sour Slushie, a rotating series of frozen Sour Slushies made with a blend of Cascade Brewing sours and fruit juices. The summer seasonal, served in an eight-ounce snifter glass, will be available starting July 8 at the Cascade Brewing Barrel House and at its online store.
Like so many breweries, they are also quick to remind you that they support patio seating, Wednesday through Sunday, at both locations.
