Celebrate spring with Lucky Envelope and five new releases this week and the next.

As the world rolls into another spring filled with hope for a relaxing summer, before the season of change returns, the folks at Lucky Envelope Brewing are pleased to share their upcoming releases. Released during weeks 12 and 13, the brewery is focussed on sours, a juicy ipa, and an inspired Italian-style pilsner. With a look at better weather, here are your beers of late March and early April.

Releasing later this week, get to know South African Juicy IPA and Italian Pilsner, both available on draft and in 16-ounce cans.

With notes of apricots, red berries, green coconut, and orange peel, South African is brewed with hops from George, South Africa. You’re forgiven if you think hops only come from the Yakima Valley or Oregon’s Willamette Valley, which is why the brewery invites you to try their latest juicy ipa. A rewarding sipper after yard work or spring cleaning, get to know hops Southern Passion and Southern Star, and say hello to South Africa.

Released the same week as South African Juicy IPA, Italian Pilsner is “lagerheads” pilsner.

Brewed with hops Saphir and Hallertauer Mittelfrueh, the beer’s rockstar is Weyermann Eraclea Malt. grown near Italy’s Adriatic coast. With notes of honey sweetness, and floral aromatics, this is a sessionable beer built for spring.

Next week, the brewery is releasing three fruit-inspired or candy-inspired sours, two of which are draft-exclusive, all out on April 2nd.

First up is Blackberry Cobbler Sour, a dessert in a glass aided by hundreds of pounds of blackberries, lemon zest, vanilla, and lactose. The result is a beer that has the right balance of tart and creaminess. Bonus points if you take one of these home and try a float made with a scoop of french vanilla ice cream, bits of brown sugar, and a can pour of Blackberry Cobbler Sour.

Next in line is their Sour Patch Kids Watermelon.

Made with real Sour Patch Kids Watermelon candy and hibiscus, results in a beer that is slightly tart and full of watermelon flavor. Available only on draft.

Finally, the brewery will release Curuba Sour made with this unique South American fruit. Nicknamed “banana, passionfruit”, curuba might remind people of passionfruit and peaches, if they were blended together. Also a draft exclusive.

About Lucky Envelope Brewing

Lucky Envelope’s brewing philosophy is centered around “Culturally Inspired Beer” whose recipes draw from modern and historic brewing styles and techniques. In addition, Lucky Envelope also uses both traditional and non-traditional ingredients in our beers which range from traditional IPAs (ENIAC Mosaic IPA), to German-style lagers (Helles Lager), to seasonal favorites like our Two Pepper Pale Ale (Habanero & Shishito peppers) and Peanut Butter Cream Stout.

The name Lucky Envelope comes from the Chinese tradition of the elderly generation giving the younger generation red envelopes filled with paper money. The color red is meant to ward off evil spirits and bring good health, while the money inside is supposed to bring prosperity. The Mandarin word for the envelope “hongbao” translates to red pouch while the Cantonese word for the envelope “laisee” translates to lucky money. Many refer to the envelopes as red envelope, or Lucky Envelope. For Barry and Ray, lucky envelopes bring back good memories whether it was a Chinese New Year celebration, graduating from school, or celebrating a life milestone.
