Winter beers don't end with Christmas, get to Lucky Envelope for three fun beers.

If you are like many, now that Christmas is over, you are praying for sun and warmth and have given up on Winter. It’s ok. It’s perfectly natural to associate Winter with Christmas, despite the Winter Solstice falling on December 21st and Christmas just 4 days later. So if you will keep an open mind, reconsider your New Year's Resolutions, here’s a list of beers from Lucky Envelope for Winter.

Dubbed Lotus Dry-Hopped Pilsner, Lucky Envelope has released an American interpretation of a German Pilsner, at 5.1% ABV (alcohol by volume). Brewed with Lotus and Citra hops, Lotus has notes of orange, citrus, and tropical fruit. If you notice a creamsicle-like quality, then you’re not crazy, as the brewers themselves sensed this too.

Following Lotus is Buddha’s Hand Citron IPA.

Brewed and released during the late Fall, this 6.6% ABV India Pale Ale was brewed in the West Coast ENIAC style. Brewed with Buddha’s Hand Citron, a common East Asian fruit, the brewery took full use of this juiceless fruit. The result is a beer that has botanical notes and intense strong flavors of lemon drop candy and fresh cut lemons.

On Deck (and probably on draft and in cans already)

Finally, the brewery is pleased to announce the release of Mexican Chocolate Whiskey Barrel Imperial Porter. Letting the brewery have a go at telling us about their beers, here are their own words about Mexican Chocolate Whiskey Barrel Imperial Porter.

Spice up your beer game with this barrel-aged chocolate bomb laced with three kinds of dried chili peppers, cinnamon, and vanilla. We dosed this decadent Imperial Porter with smoky Ancho chilis, New Mexico chilis, and intense Cayenne chilis to produce complex pepper flavors with tasting notes of cherries, dried plum, and roasty raisin cocoa. Warm cinnamon and sweet vanilla shine through, balancing the heat and complementing the caramel, oakiness imparted by the Copperworks Whiskey Hogsheads.

At 12.5% this is sure to knock your mouth out of the park with spices and boozie notes.

Look for Lotus, Buddha’s Hand, and Mexican Chocolate Whiskey Barrel Imperial Porter in 16oz cans and on draft. Note, except for Mexican Chocolate Whiskey Barrel Imperial Porter, all other beers are available in 4-packs or on draft.

About Lucky Envelope Brewing

Lucky Envelope’s brewing philosophy is centered around “Culturally Inspired Beer” whose recipes draw from modern and historic brewing styles and techniques. In addition, Lucky Envelope also uses both traditional and non-traditional ingredients in our beers which range from traditional IPAs (ENIAC Mosaic IPA), to German-style lagers (Helles Lager), to seasonal favorites like our Two Pepper Pale Ale (Habanero & Shishito peppers) and Peanut Butter Cream Stout.

The name Lucky Envelope comes from the Chinese tradition of the elderly generation giving the younger generation red envelopes filled with paper money. The color red is meant to ward off evil spirits and bring good health, while the money inside is supposed to bring prosperity. The Mandarin word for the envelope “hongbao” translates to red pouch while the Cantonese word for the envelope “laisee” translates to lucky money. Many refer to the envelopes as red envelope, or Lucky Envelope. For Barry and Ray, lucky envelopes bring back good memories whether it was a Chinese New Year celebration, graduating from school, or celebrating a life milestone.
