Flying Lion Brewing host the 9th Annual Dark Beer Fest, December 15th thru 18th.

Known as the darkest day of the year, December 21st 2022 ushers in the official start of Winter. It also occurs during a time when imbibers of ales and lagers are seeking something dark and warming. Which is probably why Seattle’s Flying Lion Brewing is having a party.

During the darkest time of the year...comes a celebration with the darkest of beers. Flying Lion Brewing invites you to share in their love of dark beer at the 9th Annual Dark Beer Fest, taking place at the brewery, Thursday, December 15th through Sunday, December 18th from 10am-midnight each day.

The most anticipated event of the year, for Flying Lion, the brewery invites imbibers of all kinds to stop in and grab a flight or glass of beers brewed for this unique time of the year.

What started as a 6-beer event has grown to include some 30 beers spread out over several days. As with previous years, the brewery will host not only a plethora of beers from their brewery but also cellared beers, and also their annual collaboration release.

Every year they partner with a different local brewery to bring you a new and exciting dark beer made exclusively for this event. This year they got together with friends at Optimism Brewing to bring you a dark twist on a porter! Available in cans and on draft from both breweries.

There are no tickets, no reservations, but if you want a seat, you need to show up early or bring your patience. Those who show up early will be treated to donuts at 10 am, every day from December 15th thru 18th, while supplies last.

In the Columbia City neighborhood, Flying Lion Brewing produces memorable ales and lagers, in their tiny brewery and taproom. At 5041 Rainier Ave S Ste 106 Seattle, WA, the brewery is open most days from 2 pm to late.

About Flying Lion Brewing

Flying Lion Brewing is a family operation in Columbia City, Seattle, conceived by four beer-loving brothers and their parents. It all started with root beer batches in the basement and dinner-table discussions about beer flavors and hop utilization. Years, beers, and many late nights later, they built the brewery they’d always dreamed of. The taproom is open 7 days a week and is kid and dog-friendly. Though there isn’t a kitchen, you are always welcome to bring in your own food - bring the picnic or choose from 25+ restaurants within easy walking distance!
