Seattle, WA - During the darkest time of the year...comes a celebration with the darkest of beers. Flying Lion Brewing invites you to share in their love of dark beer at the 8th Annual Dark Beer Fest, taking place at the brewery, Friday, December 17th through Sunday, December 19th from 10am-midnight each day.
Their biggest and most awaited event of the year, this festival fills their taproom with beer lovers and flight boards abound! Although events are now permissible with fewer restrictions, they will be taking extra safety precautions by having an extended outdoor tented area for extra space and air flow. Per King County mandates, proof of vaccination will be required for indoor seating and masks must be worn when not seated. No tickets or reservations are required; all seating is on a first come, first served basis.
Dark Beer Fest started at Flying Lion Brewing in 2014 and has grown from a modest 6-beer list to a full 30+ beer, multi-day event complete with cellared favorites, special releases, and plenty of limited availability brews. We're talking all dark beer, all weekend, with styles changing each day. Bring your growlers too - all of these exclusive beers are available for growler fills! If you haven't been, you're missing out. They plot and plan all year long so mark your calendars - they think the only reason you should travel this December is if you're going there! ANNUAL DARK BEER COLLABORATION! - This year, brewed with The Good Society Brewery & Public House, brings a twist on a traditional English style! Available in cans and on draft from both breweries.
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! - Brownrigg Hard Cider is crafting up another dark cider exclusively for this event!
10AM EARLY OPEN + DONUTS! Now an annual tradition (because who doesn’t love donuts and dark beer), they open at 10AM each day with FREE donuts (while supplies last) for the early risers! Many of the beers are limited and may only last one day so come early and get that special dark beer you've been waiting for

Flying Lion Brewing is a family operation in Columbia City, Seattle, conceived by four beer-loving brothers and their parents. It all started with root beer batches in the basement and dinner-table discussions about beer flavors and hop utilization. Years, beers, and many late nights later, they built the brewery they’d always dreamed of. The taproom is open 7 days a week and is kid and dog-friendly. Though there isn’t a kitchen, you are always welcome to bring in your own food - bring the picnic or choose from 25+ restaurants within easy walking distance!
