A quartet of barrels, Alesong Brewing and Blending announces their 2021 Spring Releases.

And like that, 2020 might not as well have existed! That’s because Eugene’s Alesong Brewing and Blending has announced their Spring 2021 releases. And what a harmonious group they are. Featuring their Farmhouse Cuvée, Market Paloma, Stonefruit Symphony, and Valley Preserves, these beers scream for a warm breeze and some sunshine! For co-founder Matt Van Wyk, the hope is each release is shared amongst friends and family.

“The dream has always been to create remarkable experiences and connect the beer to a memorable moment,” says Van Wyk. “For us, Stonefruit Symphony and Valley Preserves bring back the fondness of picking ripe fruit in orchards and fields. And all four of these beers are nuanced and great for an occasion where you want to share this in great company, with delicious food and sunny spring days!”

With the central harmony being barrel-aged blends, featuring ripe Oregon fruit flavors, here are the four deconstructed before the brewery shares their thoughts.

Farmhouse Cuvée. A blend of 40% neutral French oak and 60% American oak, this Saison aged with Brett, was complex, remarkable, and refreshing. Oh, and it’s a Club exclusive.

Market Paloma. A collaboration with Market of Choice, the cocktail-inspired sour ale was aged in previous use, Don Julio extra añejo tequila barrels. Aged along with grapefruit, lime, and hibiscus, the resulting beer might just replace your favorite tequila-focused cocktail. Available at Alesong Brewing and Blending’s Tasting Room and at all Market of Choice locations.

Next up, Stonefruit Symphony. No doubt inspiring thoughts of picking peaches and nectarines off the tree, this barrel-aged ale is bold and refreshing.

Finally, Alesong is happy to release Valley Preserves. A beer that sounds like a road trip along dirt roads and vast orchards, this beer’s ready for picking. Barrel-aged with cherries, boysenberries, and blueberries, this beer should pair with a cheese spread, some neutral palate crackers, and a friend.

Look for these to release wherever you find Alesong Brewing and Blending beers, except for those with noted exclusivity, all on May 14th. Think of it as a B-side to their 2020 GABF.

More on the upcoming Spring Releases.

While the fresh fruit-forward beers Stonefruit Symphony and Valley Preserves will be widely available throughout the PNW, bottles of Farmhouse Cuvée will be available exclusively to Blender’s Circle bottle club members. Blended from first-use American oak barrels and French oak barrels, this beer spotlights the honed blending skill of the 5-year-old brewery. And with a paloma cocktail-inspired beer aged in tequila barrels, all four of these May releases sing springtime rhapsodies: crisp and refreshing without sacrificing complexity in the least.

ABOUT ALESONG BREWING AND BLENDING

Alesong Brewing and Blending is a small artisan brewery based in the heart of Southern Willamette Valley wine country with a public tasting room in downtown Eugene. The all-barrel-aged brewery crafts unique and small-batch beers, brewing both wild and non-wild styles that span the flavor spectrum. Once the beer in barrels has matured, the team samples and selects each barrel individually to blend. Paying homage to old-world Lambic blenders and artisan winemakers, Alesong believes that the final, balanced blend of a barrel-aged beer is much more complex and satisfying than the sum of its parts or each individual barrel by itself.
