Victoria Beer Week 2020 starts this weekend! Here's your breakdown from the organizers.

Victoria Beer Week returns March 6-14, 2020. The 7th annual festival celebrating Victoria’s craft beer culture includes a mix of 19 events over 9 days, including some favourite events from past years, a full curriculum of Beer School classes, and some exciting new twists. The week opens with Lift Off! on Friday, March 6 — a special night featuring 16 brand new beers — and closes with Saturday Night Casks on March 14, both at the Victoria Public Market, which has served as VBW’s headquarters since its launch in 2014. 

New events include Publican’s Picks: A Beer Paired Dinner with Paul Hadfield at Spinnakers Brewpub that includes a screening of a documentary about the early days of the microbrewery movement that includes footage of Spinnakers from 1987; the Street Eats Brewery Tour hosted by West Coast Brewery Tours; and Lager Than Life, a special event celebrating the wide world of underrated and underappreciated lagers.

Food and beer lovers can get their fill at Taco Tuesday and/or the Brewmasters Brunch, hosted by Swans Brewery, Pub and Hotel. And beer geeks will swoon over the amazing beer selection at All About the Wood and/or Pucker Up.

  • Beer + Coffee - Thursday, March 12, 6:00pm at Discovery Coffee Roastery

  • Party Like It’s 999 - Saturday, March 14, 3:00pm at the Argyle Attic

Victoria Beer Week announces return with new dates, May 5th thru 13th, 2023. Early-bird tickets go on sale in February.

“New events include Down Unda featuring southern hemisphere hops and New Zealand pilsners alongside SaltChuck Pies at the gorgeous Esquimalt Park Gorge Pavilion; and Sour Power a 70’s themed sour beer disco party with Tight Hair headlining for a real Saturday Night Fever. Dubbel Down will return to the iconic Victoria Public Market on Friday, May 12th for a night of Belgian inspired beers and cuisine. The ever popular Beer & Pizza Night will be hosted at Driftwood Brewery and partners with local vendor Bicycle Pizza for a delicious multi-course pairing. Victoria Beer Week will also kick off the Langford based Friday’s at the Station series at Langford Station. This pop-up beer garden series will continue every Friday for the rest of summer. More details about each event will be released over the next couple weeks on their Instagram, @vicbeerweek. 

Early Bird discounted tickets for Victoria Beer Society members will go on sale on Friday, February 10th at 10:00am online at victoriabeersociety.com. General on-sale for the public is scheduled for Friday, March 17th.”
