During a unique period in history, as people cope with COVID-19, it is easy to forget there are people who still don’t have access to clean water. Add this weight to your already anchored reality, the next time you turn your faucet to recover a glass of water. However, one such brewery recognizes the importance of clean water - Delta’s Four Winds Brewing Company.

Meet Brewgooder, an organization focussed on bringing clean water to communities while simultaneously providing sustainable education.

As recently as 2017, in Malawi’s Chiluzi Village, Brewgooder installed a 5000L, solar-powered tank with three taps for the “Mama Nora” nursery school programme. A year later, building on the success of their programme, Brewgooder installed a 3000L water tank. As of 2018, the foundation has impacted some 32 thousand lives through their supported programmes.

Owing to their relationship with Brewgooder, Four Winds Brewing Company is pleased to release Wowawasa, a Gooseberry Gose.

The word itself means "sour" in Chichewa and was originally brewed to help the Brewgooder campaign raise money to build wells in Malawi. Partial proceeds from the sale of this beer will go to help bring clean drinking water to 100,000 people in Malawi. We hope this beer helps brighten some faces during this difficult time.

Available at the brewery as a takeout-only option, the brewery hopes you’ll not only try this beer but if you’re unable to visit Four Winds’ taproom or a nearby liquor store; the brewery hopes that you’ll consider donating to Brewgooder. About Four Winds Brewing Company

Four Winds joined the burgeoning BC craft beer scene and opened their doors to a public thirsty for new local offerings on June 1, 2013. Owned, operated and built from the ground up by the Mills family and friends, we are inspired by the Four Winds in gathering flavours from around the world to create our unique West Coast and European styles. We take great pleasure in the application of new world innovations while staying true to old world techniques. Motivated by the limitless potential of beer, as well as the great brewers who came before us, we aim to craft bold beers with character, depth, and balance.

Situated just off the banks of the Fraser River in Delta BC, our brewery is geared towards bottle and draft production while our tasting room provides a unique and welcoming atmosphere for craft beer enthusiasts and newcomers alike. In addition to our tasting room, our beers can be found in bars, restaurants, and private liquor stores throughout BC.
