With the new day comes news of another business or event organizer forced to make a decision based on the proclamation by Washington state governor Jay Inslee, prohibiting “ gatherings of more than 250 people in King County” and King County Commissioner Dow Constantine’s prohibition “of gatherings of fewer than 250 people unless measures are taken by event organizers to minimize risk”.

Joining the unfortunate fraternity of those choosing safety over capital are the breweries taking part in this year’s “St. Patrick's Day in Ballard”

Sharing their thoughts on their Facebook page, the organizers said this:

In light of Gov. Jay Inslee's recent announcement on restrictions on events and gatherings, the Ballard Brewery District has made the difficult decision to modify St. Pat's Parade O' Pints including canceling the band and rides on the double decker bus. We support all measures to slow COVID-19 and are committed to community health and well-being.

To quote Executive Dow Constantine "Business must continue!" All of the breweries will be open and will enact the measures outlined by the local government to protect our patrons and allow them to enjoy the specialty beers brewed for this holiday.

Seattle is resilient. We’ll get through this together.
