When reviewing the ages of breweries in Seattle’s historic Ballard neighborhood, Reuben’s Brews is among those that might be considered relatively young. At 8 years old, the brewery is fairly young when compared with the neighborhood’s elder brewery in Maritime Pacific Brewing Company. But what the brewery lacks in age, it has made up in accolades. But this year is special, as the brewery has accomplished something they never thought possible, becoming the most award-winning brewery in the state.

Confirmed this past week, after taking multiple awards at this year’s Great American Beer Festival, Reuben’s Brews has now amassed over 275 medals.

This historic year has been anything but normal. Daily lives have been turned upside down and nobody knows what to expect next. But at least there is still great beer to be had! The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) highlights the best beer in the nation and even in the midst of this crazy time they managed to pull off their 34th annual competition, and Reuben’s once again took home multiple awards.

Announced last Friday, October 16th, Reuben’s Brews received a Silver medal for their “Reuben’s Crush” (in the Juicy or Hazy Strong Pale Ale category) and a Bronze medal for their Fresh Hop Hazealicious in the Fresh Hop Beer category. As one of only 30 breweries to take home multiple awards from GABF, the brewery was, well, gobsmacked.

“We’re chuffed to be recognized this year in two really popular categories”, said Reuben’s Co-Founder Adam Robbings. “Our approach is about creating a wide breadth of beer styles that are always balanced and drinkable. And we’ve now won GABF medals in several different categories – from Hazy IPAs and West Coast IPAs to Stouts, Barleywines, and Sours. Awards aren’t the goal, of course, but the awards are nice because they tell us that we’re achieving our high standards and brewing products that will hopefully help people grow their love of beer.”

If you were like the countless imbibers who already visit and support Reuben’s Brews, then you are in on the celebration. But if you haven’t visited Reuben’s Brews, now might be a good time. As of last Monday, October 19th, the brewery is celebrating the achievement in winning over 275 medals by putting some of their award-winning ales on draft.

Starting with Gose (Gold medal winner at GABF ‘15 & ‘16), look for beers like Nitro Dry Stout (Bronze at 2015’s GABF), Triumvirate IPA (Gold in 2017 at GABF), Three Ryes Men (Bronze at 2019’s GABF), and two versions of Reuben’s Crush Hazy IPA (Silver medal winner at 2020’s GABF).

The entire team at Reuben’s invites you to join them for a pint or two at the Taproom and raise a glass to things you can count on, even in 2020.

About Reuben’s Brews

Adam and Grace Robbings opened Reuben’s Brews in 2012, after an award-winning homebrewing career, naming the brewery after their first child, Reuben. At their family brewery they brew from the glass backwards: designing each beer with intention, unbound by constraints. They know that making that extra effort is worth it. From their everyday favorite beers to innovative new releases, they help you grow your love of beer. Reuben’s Brews. Beer Unbound.
