Anyone’s who old enough to consume a pint has grown accustomed to the new normal that is life during the global pandemic. With an end in sight, courtesy multiple pharmaceutical companies and their groundbreaking vaccines, 2021 is looking a lot better for millions and eventually billions of people in the world.

Maybe that’s why Woodinville’s Métier Brewing Co. (pronounced Meh - Tea - Ay for the laymen), has elected to continue supporting the need to be socially distant, while remaining steadfast in their mission for equality for races, genders, and sexuality. Or maybe it’s a horrible lead to introduce the United Way of King County’s latest “Eat, Drink, & Be Generous: Community Cocktails” event, this time featuring this unique brewery with a unique social agenda, February 4th, 2021.

Metier means “one’s calling,” and at Metier Brewing Company our calling is brewing damn good beer and building stronger community to inspire bigger dreams for all.

Located in Woodinville, Washington, Métier Brewing Co. is one of a handful of breweries that are minority-owned in the United States. Started by Rodney Hines and Todd Herriott, the brewery started with a mission to provide a welcoming space for all.

It’s also a brewery with a mission to empower minorities of race, gender, and identity towards equality. Besides a mission towards equality, the brewery has a mission of both civic responsibility but also awareness to the ongoing mission of supporting one another. Part of this mission begins at the brewery and continues at their world-class cycling facility in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

At Metier Seattle in Capitol Hill, Todd has built a one of kind experience for cyclists at every level of the sport — a premium bicycle shop, training space and community hub steeped in the rich culture of cycling. Metier Racing & Coffee and Metier Brewing Company are separate businesses sharing values and Todd.

Extending beyond the brewery, the Metier philosophy extends to fundraising as well. Which is where you come in.

This upcoming February, the brewery, in cooperation with the United Way of King County, invites you to join CEO and co-founder, Rodney Hines, on a virtual tour of their beers and learn more about the Métier philosophy.

Join CEO Rodney Hines as he guides you on a tour of the brewery and speaks on the critical need for representation in the craft beer industry, and what Métier plans to do about it. Head Brewer Michael Daly will lead a tasting through each beer and go through the different brewing processes. Guests will also have the opportunity to raise funds for the important work United Way does daily to ensure people have homes, students graduate, and families are financially stable.

Included in your $30 ticket purchase are 4 of the Métier beers, including their Coconut Porter and Trailblazer Pale Ale. Naturally, you must be 21 years of age or older to take part. They must receive orders by January 28th, 2021.

Last, if you sign up to be a member of the United Way Emerging Leaders 365 or Change Maker, you will be entered for a chance to win 2 Alaska Airlines, first-class, tickets wherever the airline flies. Winners will be announced June 30th, 2021.

Consider this a fun way to celebrate a brewery with a worthy cause, supporting a worthwhile charity, all paired with a few beers from a local brewery.
