Ever since the ban on social gatherings, restaurants and bars have reduced their consumption of alcohol. The result is an anemic food and beverage sector is on the verge of collapse, after weeks spent reducing staff or production of alcohol. Thankfully, there are breweries who are innovating, like the many breweries in nearby Kirkland, Redmond, and Woodinville.

Inspired by New York City’s The Other Half Brewing Company, breweries Black Raven Brewing Company, Postdoc Brewing Company, Crucible Brewing Company, and Chainline. Hosted and brewed at Kirkland, Washington, brewery - Chainline Brewing Company- these four breweries are joining forces to support The Plate Fund.

Described by the brewers as a convergence of styles between the West Coast India Pale Ale and the trending New England IPA, the Eastside-edition of Altogether IPA make use of classic and in-demand hops, Cascade, Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe. The result is a beer that should be juicy but with a nod to the old school West Coast India Pale Ale.

On sale this Friday, May 1st, look for Altogether IPA to be on sale for takeout at Redmond’s Black Raven and Postdoc, Kirkland’s Chainline, and Everett’s Crucible Brewing.

About The Plate Fund

The COVID-19 crisis is devastating for thousands of restaurant-industry workers who have lost their jobs and rely on every paycheck to afford necessities like food, transportation, baby products and medicine.

To help, The Plate Fund is providing immediate financial assistance to those who have been hardest-hit in King County.

The need is enormous, and the money the fund distributes is limited to what we raise in the days and weeks ahead. While our goal is to help as many people as possible, priority is given to applicants most in need, and the order applications are received.

Please donate and apply today!

About Crucible Brewing Company

Crucible Brewing was started in late 2015 by two childhood friends that have an absolute passion for craft beer:

About Postdoc Brewing

Postdoc Brewing was the name that Head Brewer and co-owner, Tom Schmidlin gave to his garage home brewery while he completed his PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Washington. The name stuck and became a commercial reality once Tom and his wife, Julie decided to go into business together with neighbors Debbie and Jonny Chambers in late 2013. The business relationship has been fortuitous. Tom’s many years of brewing experience and knowledge of the craft brewing industry has combined with Debbie’s past work in large-scale manufacturing operations, Jonny’s ability in marketing and technology and Julie’s work as a Project Manager to get the enterprise off the ground.

Postdoc Brewing is also exceptionally lucky to have some great contributors on staff. Jason Heitt, runs a tight, yet entertaining ship in the taproom. Brian Donohue brings some great brewing experience as our Lead Brewer. Evan Powell has studied tediously under Tom and Brian’s direction and is invaluable as our assistant brewer. John Lees does a great job keeping the beer moving out our doors as our Sales Manager. We’re very proud of our team!

We look forward to serving the Washington community, and beyond, for many years to come.
