Crosby Hops is pleased to (finally) announce the opening of their TopWire Hop Project.

A showcase for visitors to learn firsthand the importance of hops, the hop merchant and processor, is offering you, the consumer, an opportunity to enjoy draught beer made with hops sourced from Crosby Hops’ hop bines.

Rooted in five generations of hop farming that began with Albert and Mary Crosby in 1900, today the Salmon-Safe and GlobalG.A.P. certified grower is synonymous with quality hops tailored to craft brewers and the evolving needs of the industry.

For Crosby Hops’ CEO, Blake Crosby, the opportunity to invite guests to the farm and learn more about hops is a dream come true, stating;

 “... now is the right time to rearticulate our purpose and celebrate each of our core areas of focus.”

Expanding on his thoughts, Crosby confirms how thrilled he is in drawing attention not only to the hops, grown at their farms but also the businesses which continue to source and support farmers like Crosby. For Blake and the rest of the family and staff at Crosby Hops, the TopWire Hop Project is a story that should be told and paired with a glass of beer.

As one of the few Certified B Corporation® hop farms, they have recognized Crosby for their ongoing support of employees, the community, the environment, and their family/corporate governance. This is expressed not only in their relationships with their staff and the community but also in their ongoing expansion and investment to other countries, as clear with their newly opened Crosby Hops Europe in the Netherlands. Furthermore, the family and farmers of Crosby support liked-minded, independent growers and partners throughout the world. A labor of love nearly 200  years in the making, the brand continues to be a recognized source of quality ingredients.

Owing to five generations of farmers, starting with Albert and Mary Crosby in 1900, Crosby Hop Farm fields are vast at some six hundred acres featuring 11 distinctive “estate grown” varieties. A hop innovator, Crosby Hop Farm is first in Oregon, commercially developing Amarillo®, Belma™, Comet, El Dorado®, Idaho 7®,  and Zappa™ hop varieties.

Now open, the farms’ TopWire Hop Project expands on the farmers' commitment to recognizing the relations between growers, suppliers, and merchants. Complemented by the awe-inspiring view of Mt. Hood, this open-air beer garden is set directly in the hop farms’ Centennial hop yard. While there, you are invited to review and indulge from 10 rotating taps of beer, cider, and sparkling water, developed by Crosby’s R&D department. Brewed by the very merchants you might already support, the beers are not only available for consumption on the grounds but also in takeaway, 16-ounce cans. As always, recognizing the pandemic, they ask guests to observe safety guidelines in keeping with the state of Oregon.
