Say goodbye to Fall with McMenamins' Lord or Misrule and hello to Longest Night.

Looking at the calendar, coupled with the temperatures outside, it's each to forget that it's still technically Fall. That's right, Fall! You know, dead leaves, pumpkins, the reminder that nature needs a timeout from time to time? But that hasn't stopped people performing a stage dive into Winter, with nothing to catch them but the frail remaining days of Fall. Nor has this stopped you from thinking of beers that are dark, strong, and warming to combat the chill that our region's weather provides. All the more reason to stop into a local McMenamins, to recover this year's Lord of Misrule.

Brewed every year, for like, 5-years; Lord of Misrule is the brewers' answer to your dark thoughts, in liquid form. First brewed at Edgefield, in Oregon's quiet Troutdale, Lord of Misrule invites you to sit down with a bottle or glass in hand, staring at warm fire on the television or naturally occuring in your living room, all the while pondering the arrival of Winter. Or as one person described it.

This year’s barrel-aged brew is still a milk stout, but with hints of chocolate, caramel and coconut. Think a Samoa girl scout cookie in a bottle.

Available now at pretty much every McMenamins location, Lord of Misrule isn't hard to find with it's wax-dipped tops and unique labels. Pick up a bottle today, tomorrow, or soon!

Oh and if you time it right, you can swing in and recover a bottle of their, Winter, beer - Longest Night.

After aging in Hogshead Whiskey barrels, this beer is a true example of a classic, barrel-aged English Barleywine. Already a formidable ale in its own right, it has matured into a flavorful, complex behemoth. It offers flavors of toffee, caramel, and a warming alcohol character that's been rounded and accentuated by notes of raisin, vanilla, and oak from its aging.

But you didn't hear that from us!
