McMenamins celebrates holidays & birthdays with Kris Kringle and Bottle Shop Birthday Reserve No. 4

Not wishing to be left off the dinner table or barback, McMenamins breweries have recently released two beers inspire deja vu and reflection.

Released this past week (November 15th), Kris Kringle is a beer that loyalists to their local McMenamins know well. Like many beers in the region, Kris Kringle is a legacy seasonal. After all, much like beers from Bend and Hood River, it's not the Holiday season without a Kris Kringle in your hand. Taking a second look at the beloved Winter warmer, the brewers at McMenamins have produced a beer that has all the character of a traditional warmer.

This year's winter warmer is a hearty and robust ale with a big and bold malt complexity. Toasty, caramel and fig flavors make up its sturdy foundation while two hop varieties added in five different additions deliver magnificent and intense hop flavor and aroma. This ale also pairs great with McMenamins creamery’s new Kris Kringle ice cream, made with cinnamon custard and crunchy graham crackers.

Brewed with Pale, Munich, Wheat, Crystal 15, Crystal 120, Baird's Chocolate Malt, Maltodextrin; along with Centennial and Cascade hops; Kris Kringle beckons you to pick up a four-pack or simply relax with a pint. Kris Kringle is 6.84% ABV (Alcohol By Volume) and 87 IBU (International Bittering Units) and can be found at all McMenamins brewery locations, while supplies last.

Next up is a rare treat from the Edgefield laboratory in Troutdale, Oregon. Dubbed Bottleshop Birthday Reserve No. 4, the brewers took a perfectly respectable Saison and put it in oak barrels. What makes these oak barrels special, thereby enhancing your experience, is that these barrels were previously used to produce oak-aged Three Rocks Rum and Spiced Hard Cider. The end result is a Saison that is bright as a cloudless sky with notes of shortbread, freshly shaved cocoa and sugarcoated oranges.

Look for both of these, in short supply, available at McMenamin's taprooms, bottleshops, and restaurant locations.
