Hellbent Brewing Company announces two canned releases, All Spruced Up and The Freaks Come Out at Night

Two new, canned, releases are coming your way from Seattle´s Hellbent Brewing Company, both in the month of November.

Starting with All Spruced Up, the brew crew have released a Winter Ale worthy of the season.

Starting with a copious amount of Pale, Dark Munich, Munich, Caramel 40L, Crystal 20, Special B, De-bittered Black malts; All Spruced Up gets prepared for its bitter chaperones, consisting of Citra, Chinook, and Cascade hops. Eventually, the main attraction joins the fray, in the form of spruce tips, resulting in a beer is that has characteristics best summed up as dark, floral, citrus, and with a candy-like aroma. At 7.5% and 32 IBU, this beer will pair nicely with that upcoming seasonal party or Thanksgiving dinner.

Look for All Spruced Up, releasing on the 13th of November, starting at noon. For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/events/441626566467447/

Rested after foraging for spruce tips, Brian Young and his esteemed assistants have a unique release for you. Released later this month, The Freaks Come Out at Night, is a bit of an homage to backdoor brewery releases both past and present.

Starting with a kitchen sink´s list of malt consisting of Pale, Cara 20, Cara Munich 3, Special B, Brown, Aeromatic, Roast Barley, Chocolate Malt, Black Malt, Caramel Steam, plus a little help from Demerara sugar; The Freaks builds a hearty foundation for the yet-to-be-named hops. The end result is a beer that is ¨.. full-bodied, rich in flavor and high in alcohol.¨ Oh, and at 9.6% ABV and 70 IBU, this beer will both warm your body as well as inspire dark thoughts of smooth chocolate and notes of coffee.

Look for this one to go on sale, in the parking lot, at the entrance of the brewery, starting at 11:30 AM on November 23rd. Shortly afterward, the brewery taproom will open for those looking to sleep in and get their hands on a four-pack or glass of this fun beer.

About Hellbent Brewing Company

Hellbent started with three of us – Jack Guinn, Chris Giles and Randy Embernate – longtime friends and restaurant industry veterans. For us, starting Hellbent was the natural (and the coolest) thing to do, growing directly out of our experience and our love of beer. For years we home-brewed and toiled over our business plan. Then, we met Brian Young – award winning brewer, co-owner and fast friend – who turned out to be the missing link. Within a couple months, we were on the hunt for the perfect location.

We wanted our brewery in Lake City, where Chris and Jack already called home, to contribute to the growing beer scene here. When we stepped into the old CM Hopkins building for the first time, we knew we had found our venue. Starting right away, we gutted it and began the transformation, building with reclaimed wood, steel, good humor, and a fair amount of muscle.

Finally, after years of fierce determination and hard work (including seven months of construction), we opened our doors in the thick of microbrew country. We didn’t do this alone. We are humbled by the support and kindness of our friends and family that helped us along the way. So, to our beer-loving brothers and sisters of the Pacific Northwest, cheers and welcome to Hellbent!
