Hellbent Brewing announces the upcoming release of their Big Island Coconut Stout

Comfort food. By their very definition, are foods which warm the hearts, inspired the minds, and salivate the senses. No one can tell you what comfort is. Instead, you'll have to dig into your olfactory memory and recall that first slice of juicy meatloaf, the pearl whiteness escaping a recently baked or a crispy skinned chicken wing.

What about a 'comfort beer'?

Most would immediately point to a nearby can of light-American-lager or a German beer with a familiar white and blue-dressed blonde. Hellbent Brewing's co-owner, Randy Embernate, might have the closest thing to a 'comfort beer' with the release of Big Island Toasted Coconut Stout.

An expat from 'The Big Island' of Hawaii, Randy and his assistant brewer (Ryan Fitts) conceived of a beer inspired by the natural hybrid of the botanical kingdom, the coconut. Which is why they collaborated on Big Island Toasted Coconut Stout, an Oatmeal Stout aged with toasted coconuts.

Be the first to get this year's batch of our Big Island Toasted Coconut Stout - one our most sought after beers!!! This year we will have a limited number of 22oz bottles for sale alongside the release of the Nitro and CO2 versions of this stout. For those of you who have not yet tried the Toasted Coconut Stout, prepare yourself for a beer that is rich with roasted malt flavor, yet smooth and drinkable. Our Big Island Coconut Stout is a traditional oatmeal stout aged on toasted coconut, creating a beer with a heavenly flavor and aroma. You don’t want to miss this beer before it’s gone!

Big Island Toasted Coconut Stout will be on sale, January 17th when the brewery's taproom opens at 12 pm. Hellbent Brewing Company is located at 13035 Lake City Way NE in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood. While you're there, ask Randy or Ryan where what town they are from. The answer might put a smile on your face.
