With Christmas and New Year's Day in the rearview of memory, the brewers of Hellbent Brewing Company are happy to announce the first release of 2020, with Fresh Tracks Tropical Hazy IPA Beer Release. Continuing the dutiful-obsession with all things hazy, Hellbent Brewing Company sought inspiration from the tropics with their latest hazy India Pale Ale.

Starting with cutting edges hops Sultana, Sabro, coupled with groundbreakers Mosaic, Simcoe, and Amarillo; Hellbent creates a beer that inspires thoughts of citrus fruit, fields of flowers, or a walk through a Pacific Northwest pine forest. Besides world-class hops, Fresh Tracks uses 2-row pale base, white wheat, flaked corn, and rolled oats  for mouthfeel that is textured and flavorful.

Our goal is a smooth pillowy mild malt flavor with pineapple, coconut, passionfruit, tangerine, grapefruit and a touch of piney dankness to tantalize the taste buds.

At 6.5% ABV (alcohol by volume) and 45 IBU (international bittering units), Fresh Tracks makes (well) tracks tomorrow, December 8th.

Not to be outdone, the brewery is happy to announce the return of their tropical porter - Big Island Coconut Stout.

Considered their best version yet, 2020s Big Island Coconut Stout is full of surprises.

Rich roasted malt flavor, smooth and drinkable, Big Island Coconut Stout is a traditional oatmeal stout aged on toasted coconut, creating a beer with a heavenly flavor and aroma.

For Big Island Coconut Stout, it begins with a bed of Pale, Cara-20, Cara-45, Cara-8, Special B, Honey, Chocolate malts, and a bit of Roasted Barley. Rest on top of the sweet base are hops Sabro and Simcoe, as well as toasted (sweetened) and raw (sweetened) coconut.

At 6.2%, Big Island Coconut Stout will be available on draft and nitro,  next Wednesday, January 15th.

About Hellbent Brewing Company

Hellbent started with three of us – Jack Guinn, Chris Giles and Randy Embernate – longtime friends and restaurant industry veterans. For us, starting Hellbent was the natural (and the coolest) thing to do, growing directly out of our experience and our love of beer. For years we home-brewed and toiled over our business plan. Then, we met Brian Young – award winning brewer, co-owner and fast friend – who turned out to be the missing link. Within a couple months, we were on the hunt for the perfect location.

We wanted our brewery in Lake City, where Chris and Jack already called home, to contribute to the growing beer scene here. When we stepped into the old CM Hopkins building for the first time, we knew we had found our venue. Starting right away, we gutted it and began the transformation, building with reclaimed wood, steel, good humor, and a fair amount of muscle.

Finally, after years of fierce determination and hard work (including seven months of construction), we opened our doors in the thick of microbrew country. We didn’t do this alone. We are humbled by the support and kindness of our friends and family that helped us along the way. So, to our beer-loving brothers and sisters of the Pacific Northwest, cheers and welcome to Hellbent!

UPDATE: Hellbent Brewing Company has since issued us an updated image for their Big Island Toasted Coconut Stout.
