Ask anyone who's driven behind the wheel, in Seattle traffic, and they will confirm that patience is talent, not a virtue. The same might be said of our lust for beer styles like the India Pale Ale, Hazy India Pale Ale, or the occasional sour when one is told “it’s in the tank.” . Patience, often times as it is, takes a back seat when our beloved beers have committed truancy, by not being available on draft or on the shelves of our local grocery stores.
But there's another kind of beer, one that requires the brewer to patiently resist the urge to release it early before it has an opportunity to evolve. As a member of the fraternal order or patience, Hellbent Brewing Company is happy to announce the upcoming release of their barrel-aged Imperial Stout. Resting in previous-use Woodinville Whiskey barrels, Hellbent's Imperial Stout has laid in suspension since October of 2018. But after countless check-ins, the brewery feels the time has come to release a new beer for its thirsty masses.
Described as an Imperial Stout with notes of "velvety chocolate flavor with subtle notes of coffee, bourbon, and toasted wood"; Hellbent's Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout will be on draft and in bottles, this May 15th at 12 pm.
Hellbent Brewing Company is located at 13035 Lake City Way NE in Seattle WA 98125. For more information including the brewery's taproom hours and food trucks, visit http://www.hellbentbrewingcompany.com.
