Tacoma Beer Week 2016 runs from August 1st thru August 6th. What you need to know and where to go.

This Monday, August 1st and concluding August 6th, the city of Tacoma will usher in "Tacoma Beer Week". Complimentary to its northern cousin, Seattle's "Beer Week", the city of Tacoma will cast a spotlight on breweries, alehouses, and restaurants that complement the city's beer culture.

It’s that time of year when we gather as friends to give back to the community of savvy consumers who drink our beer all year long. This week isn’t just about Tacoma’s breweries, (although that’s a big part of it of course,) but rather it’s an opportunity for us to let our hair down, plan some insane events and create a deafening buzz about the exploding craft beer scene in Tacoma. As we continue to raise the bar year after year, our goal will be to have this beautiful city recognized as one of the healthiest and most exciting beer destinations in the country. Make no mistake about this year's calendar of events, Tacoma Beer Week is not exclusive to breweries in or around Tacoma.

Starting on Monday, August 1st, you have your choice of the following:

• 5pm "Tacoma Beer Week Night 1: Kickoff with Pacific Brewing" at The Red Hot
  Come kickoff Tacoma Beer Week and raise a glass with our pals down the hill at Pacific Brewing & Malting! Simcoe IPA, Mosaic Pale, & Boysen The Hood Wheat await as we kick off Tacoma Beer Week in style. Tapping at 5pm, raffles at 7-ish!
• 6pm - 10pm "Grit City / Capital City Beer Night" featuring Pacific Brewing and Three Magnets Brewing at the Edison City Alehouse
  
  We'll be kicking off Tacoma Beer Week with a joint Pacific Brewing and Three Magnets Brewing event. We'll have lots great beer from both these breweries. Ryan from Pacific will be smoking and bbqing up some great food for everyone. We'll also have a special Firkin of a Hoppy, Dark Saison that was brewed by Three Magnets in collaboration with Logsdon Farmhouse Ales.
  
  Come on down and lets kick off Tacoma Beer Week in style!
• 6pm - 10pm "SudsPop: The Beatles Revolver in Beer" at The Copper Door
  
  In celebration of the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ “Revolver” album,Peaks and Pints and The Copper Door will spin the psychedelia and studio artistry of "Revolver," as well as other Beatles’ tunes, while pouring beers inspired by songs off "Revolver" brewed by eight Tacoma breweries: Harmon Brewing Co., Pacific Brewing & Malting Co., E-9 Brewery, 7 Seas Brewing Co., Odd Otter Brewing Company, Tacoma Brewing Co., Narrows Brewing and Wingman Brewers Tacoma. Each original beer comes with a playful name to match the song title or lyrics. 
  
  The event will be held at The Copper Door in Tacoma’s Stadium District, 12 N. Tacoma Ave. No cover.

  The epic battle includes entires from Tacoma Brewing Co., Harmon Brewing Co., Engine House No. 9, Pacific Brewing & Malting Co., Odd Otter Brewing Co., The Ram Brewery, Narrows Brewing Co., Wingman Brewers and 7 Seas Brewing. So much beer, so little time...

• 6pm "Alpha Distributor Showcase" at Pint Defiance
  
  We are taking an opportunity to highlight a local small distributorship’s awesome catalog, and you get a chance to taste the best of what they have to offer. Featuring beers on tap from Fat Heads, Altamont, Belching Beaver, De Garde, and more. Beer bonding and giveaways galore!
  
• 6pm "Tacoma Beer Week Event: 3-Way Brewer's Night with Fort George, Melvin Brewing, & Barley Brown Brewing at The Copper Door
  
  We’re going BIG this for this year’s Tacoma Beer Week!...

  Fort George Brewery, Melvin Brewing & Barley Brown's Brew Pub will all be in the house for a massive 3-WAY IPA event!! • 5pm "Founding Fathers Night" at The Parkway Tavern
  
  "A rare opportunity to meet and talk to some pioneers of Washington's craft brewing industry. Look for Mike Hale from Hale's Brewery, George Hancock from Maritime Pacific Brewing and our own Jeff Fraychineaud, along with other craft beer gurus. Hey, you might learn something."
• 6pm "Brewery Showcase with Cascade Barrel House" at Pint Defiance
  Join us as we celebrate the West Coast’s original “House of Sour” with special bottle releases and Cascade barrel-aged sours on tap. Also, the debut of Cascade Portland Ale!

  Drink canned beer for a cause. Bring in a can of food for a raffle ticket. More cans = more tickets. All food will be donated to Tacoma Rescue Mission.   Edison City Alehouse is very excited to announce our signature event for Tacoma Beer Week! Join us Friday, Aug 5th for our 1st Annual Sour Beer Fest. If you like Sour Beer you wont want to miss this event!
