We are thrilled to announce that Chef Wayne Johnson has been selected to be Ray’s next Executive Chef! Chef Wayne’s passion for beautiful food and extraordinary flavors, love of mentoring, and dedication to giving back, are a perfect match for Ray’s distinctive cuisine, trademark hospitality and commitment to community. He comes to Ray’s from the elegant Mayflower Park Hotel in Seattle where he has served as Executive Chef of the award-winning Andaluca Restaurant and Oliver’s Lounge since 1999.

He fell in love with food while cooking holiday feasts with his mom, and began his culinary adventures in high school working as a dishwasher and prep cook to save money for his first car.

Chef Wayne has earned numerous awards over his 30+ years in the restaurant industry, including being selected as a “Rising Star” by StarChefs.com, cooking at the James Beard House, and competing in Season 9 of Iron Chef America. He will be in the Ray’s Kitchen starting February 6, 2012. Please join us in welcoming Chef Wayne into the Ray’s family!

THANK YOU!

We know there are a lot of delicious choices when it comes to dining in Seattle, so on behalf of our owners, managers and crew, I want to personally thank you for being a Ray’s Guest. As we head into 2012 and Ray’s embarks on a new chapter in our incredible fish story, our most important mission continues to be providing you with the very best in food, quality and service. If there is ever anything we can do better, please don’t hesitate to let us know at rays@rays.com.

We look forward to what Chef Wayne comes up with, especially for my spouse the vegetarian. Congrats.
