The first weekend since King County entered a modified reopening known as Phase 1.5, the ownership and staff at Fremont Brewing Company have made an announcement - they are reopening their taproom. Taking a moment out of his busy day, co-owner Matt Lincecum is relived to serve beer to fans and locals.

“We miss sharing a beer with friends, petting all the dogs, and basking in the Urban Beer Garden’s community vibe. We’ve been planning how to safely re-open ever since Governor Inslee announced Washington’s phased reopening,”

Digging deeper into the requirements, Fremont Brewing are authorized to host 50% of their occupancy outdoors, with each party being six-feet apart. It continues with the brewery staff providing touch-free payment systems, a third bar to minimize orders, and frequent cleaning of surfaces in all areas. Also, the brewery is deeply focussed on traffic and flow, indoors. Which is why they removed the communal tables to allow more space to meet the six-foot requirement.

The brewery also wants to reassure their guests; they are as  focused on their staff’s health as much as they are on your visit.

This has inspired Fremont Brewing to install new booths which host 5 or fewer people (including children and pets). It continues with the installation of touchless appliances in the restroom. Plus, the brewery has purchased hand sanitizer and face masks. Besides all of this, the brewery has moved away from a festival-style approach and is instead moving to a system where customers are asked to reserve a spot before being texted when it’s ready.

For co-owner Matt Lincecum, these changes work perfectly for their brewery and taproom.

We are fortunate to have so much outdoor space and we’ve arranged it to minimize contact with guests from different parties and will have a host to seat everyone.   Our Urban Beer Garden team has done a great job adapting to the COVID challenges, keeping everything super sanitary and clean, and they will continue to be creative in adapting along each phase of re-opening.

More details on the changes at the Urban Beer Garden can be found at https://www.fremontbrewing.com/urban-beer-garden.

And Fremont Brewing Company didn’t stop at making adjustments to their taproom and beer garden. Knowing the importance of a healthy staff leads to a healthy environment, the brewery is investing in sick time, twice daily temperature checks of its employees, and requiring masks and frequent hand washing. This on top of requiring staff to wipe down every surface prior to and after guests have left the area.

For those looking for a more contact-less experience, the brewery still has takeout options, which can be ordered in advance, via FremontBeerToGo.com. Once ordered online, you can visit the brewery gifts shop.
