A beer that should inspire thoughts of Pecan Pies made with a hint of bourbon, Mother Earth Brewing Company’s latest edition to their 4Seasons collection, is (naturally) Bourbon Barrel-Aged Maple & Pecan Pie.

The newest 4Seasons release starts out as an Imperial Stout, before being aged in prior-use bourbon barrels, along with including maple syrup and pecans. No stranger to this sweet sap, often found on pancakes, waffles, or a country breakfast after a long-night, Chris Baker was gushing over this pairing. Oh, and check out that, no so, secret ingredient in the process.

“This was an opportunity to have fun with maple, a flavor that has few applications outside of dessert-like beers. Notes of chocolate and coffee malts also create a rich environment that meld  perfectly with sweet maple and nutty, earthy pecan. The mouthfeel is thick and luscious, and the  aroma is like dessert-in-a-glass without being over-the-top. Brown sugar is added late-boil to  create a distinct brûléed finish that’s just perfect for the changing of the season.”

Or if you prefer, keep your eyes peeled at your local taproom, speciality bottle shop, or grocer in the coming weeks.
