The Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts and Von Ebert are teaming up to release "Modern Mosaic Pils".

PORTLAND, Ore. … Von Ebert Brewing, winner of the 2021 Oregon Beer Awards’ Medium Size Brewery of the Year, and The Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts have collaborated on a new beer called Modern Mosaic Pils as part “The Oregon I Am” project.
“The Oregon I Am” project was initiated to raise awareness around a newly introduced map showing 81 protected lands throughout Oregon that people can visit. The Area of the protected lands totals more than 100,000 acres, roughly the same size as the Oregon State Parks system.
The project is, according to the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts, an invitation “to step outside and discover ourselves in this magical land, to safely connect to each other and our favorite Oregon places - including ones we have yet to discover.”
The new beer, Modern Mosaic Pils, is a 5.2% ABV American-style pilsner that showcases the Mosaic hop by using two different formats of the hop. Mosaic Incognito, an extract of hop oils, and Mosaic Cryo, concentrated hop pellets that have had part of the vegetal matter of the hop plant removed, were both used in conjunction with Australian Enigma hops in the beer.
“Given the focus of ‘The Oregon I Am’ project, we wanted to produce a beer that’s reminiscent of being outdoors in Oregon,” explained Jason Hansen, Lead Brewer & Blender, Von Ebert Glendoveer. “This combination of hops did just that, with flavor and aroma characteristics of berry, resin, and pine.”
The label for the beer was paid for by the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts and designed by the local creative firm Jolby.
On June 25 at 4:30pm, the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts will be hosting a virtual Happy Hour, featuring Von Ebert and seven other Oregon breweries producing collaborations for “The Oregon I Am Project.” The Happy Hour will provide attendees the opportunity to meet the brewers and celebrate the landscape of Oregon through beer.
