Re imagined, Gigantic Brewing Company re-releases Catch 23 a fun Experimental IPA.

Press Release

… Gigantic Brewing Company is rereleasing and reimagining Catch 23 as a beer, but keeping the long-time fan favorite label art featuring a Shark vs. Eagle vs. Bear battle royale. The original Catch 23 was a pale ale using experimental hop 527. Unfortunately, they stopped growing 527 – that’s how it goes with experimental hops. So, we decided to bring back Catch 23 with a new experimental hop and to kick it up a notch by making it an IPA. This year’s hop is the brand spanking new Hopsteiner X13459. It’s known for having a sweet citrus, tropical, floral, peach and berry aroma and flavor. We plan to continue brewing Catch 23 every year, using a new experimental hop each time.

“To us, this beer is a blend of the old and the new. There’s an early 90’s floral influence, plus the intensity of modern beers. It tastes like a great combination with the past and the present,” Master Brewer Van Havig says. We welcome you to experience the nostalgia with floral aromas while drinking a deliciously punchy pint of PNW style IPA.

Join us for First Taste Tuesday featuring Catch 23 Experimental IPA on Tuesday, March 16th at both The Brewery and Champagne Lounge (5224 SE 26th Ave) and the Robot Room at Rocket Empire Machine (6935 NE Glisan). You can also order home delivery at www.GiganticBrewing.com. Look for Catch 23 on draft and in 16.9oz refillable bottles in the Portland metro area, and along the west coast in CA and WA!

Back by popular demand, we also have Catch 23 label art t-shirts! Represent Gigantic’s arguably most famous beer label and support your local brewery. The Catch 23 label was created by artist Ben Walker, who loves making art and making people laugh. He’s created show posters for comedians like Dana Gould and Maria Bamford, animation for the Adam Carolla Show, and original portraits of several comedians who hang in San Francisco’s legendary Cobb’s Comedy Club. Order your t-shirt today at www.giganticbrewing.com.

As always, Gigantic beer is packaged in BottleDrop Refillable bottles. BottleDrop Refillables are sorted, washed, inspected, and delivered back to Oregon’s craft beverage producers to be refilled. By choosing beverages in refillable bottles, you help keep our air clean, our beaches, parks and roadsides litter-free, promote a circular economy, and set a model for future generations.
