Last week something that has never occurred at Cascade Brewing, happened. Released as part of a two-part series, Nectarine Dream 2019 is now available in bottles.

Now available at Cascade Brewing Company’s two locations, the Cascade Barrel House and the Lodge at Cascade Brewing, Nectarine Dream is a blend of sour blonde ales from oak barrels and wood foudres, aged 18 months. Blended together, the beer is then aged with fresh Northwest grown nectarines, for an additional five months. Using an old school wine making technique, the brewers hand process each fruit to verify ripeness before resting at the bottom of the barrel. The result is a beer that captures “... the purest expression of the nectarine as well as the time and place in which it was grown. “

Following Nectarine Dream, the brewery will release a draft-only beer that pays homage to the spray of fruited vines, sometimes found in gardens but mostly along hiking trails and dirt roads. Made with raspberries, Native Bramble 2019 starts out as a blonde ale that is fermented with the wild yeast culture, brettanomyces, and fresh raspberries for around two years. A draft-only release, this beer balances between the tropical and citrus fruit notes of the raspberries and brett. Oh, and it’s available next week.

The Cascade Barrel House is located at 939 SE Belmont Street in Portland and is open Thursday thru Sunday, from 3 pm to 7 pm. Or if you prefer, Lodge at Cascade Brewing is located at 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy. in Beaverton.
