Seattle's Stoup Brewing announces the Greenhouse'. Your chance to keep warm outdoors, while enjoying a pint.

Like so many businesses during the global pandemic, Stoup Brewing Company is growing with their state’s guidelines. Having recently celebrated their 7th Anniversary, the brewery in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, remains a ‘swiss army knife’ of sorts, in how they get beer into hands.

Earlier this year, the brewery was one of a handful who offered door-to-door delivery, complimenting their recent commitments to can many of their beers. As the weather warmed up and more people sought the comforts of outdoor beer gardens and patios, Stoup didn’t abandon their delivery model. Simultaneously, the brewery has developed an outdoor seating strategy, keeping people safe while supporting people’s needs for a pint in their hands.

Now, when the air is getting colder, the chance of rain more frequent, and the daylight hours retreating, the ownership at Stoup have evolved their beer garden once again. Dubbed the Greenhouse at Stoup Brewing, it’s your opportunity to receive an enclosed space for 5 or few guests, first come first served.

Located in a safe corner of the brewery’s outdoor beer garden, The Greenhouse’ is available, with an online reservation and $100, guaranteeing your seat will be waiting for you. While $100 seems steep, the brewery is quick to assure you 10% will go towards a charity of your choosing.

“We’ve been thinking about how to winterize the beer garden since July,” says co-owner, Lara Zahaba.  “It was apparent to us pretty early on that COVID-19 restrictions wouldn’t be lifted before winter  weather set in,” adds Robyn Schumacher, also a co-owner and one of Stoup’s brewers. “The safety of  our staff and customers was the driving factor in our planning,” she adds. “But,” Lara notes, “comfort  is also crucial to a positive experience.”

In addition to the new Greenhouse, the brewery invites all to sit at their two fire pits or “beer pods”, configured for social distancing from other guests.

For the ownership, like co-owner and head brewer, Brad Benson, he’s most proud of the work spent into heating the space.

“I feel like a Jedi heatmaster,” Benson opines, while reassuring future guests that, “We’ll keep working on it until we’re confident all guests are  warm and comfortable.”

Stoup Brewing is located at 1108 NW 52nd Street in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.
