Like a newly discovered, mature star in the celestial curtain, Ecliptic Brewing Company’s Collaboration Series recognizes Cloudburst’s brilliance. But for those who haven’t heard of Cloudburst but are fast-friends with Ecliptic Brewing Company, here is a quick intro.

Known for unfiltered, often confused for hazy or new england-style, india pale ales with socially relevant names, Cloudburst remains a highly sought after brewery. Not just for the names of their beers, Cloudburst adopted the philosophy to remain kinetic by avoiding the practice of re-releasing beers. Instead of brewing the same beer month after month or year after year, the brewery releases a unique beer each time, save for the occasional Happy Little Clouds Dry-hopped Pilsner

That’s this writer’s opinion, but if you asked John Harris, owner and head brewer of Ecliptic, he’d say.

I am super stoked to work on a beer with Steve, Cloudburst’s Head Brewer and Founder… For the beer style, we started with the idea of a super drinkable summer beer- taking the classic Witbier and adding a refreshing hit of fresh lemon to up the drinkability.

Like the man says, this edition of Ecliptic’s Cosmic Collaboration is a Belgian-style Witbier, fermented with real lemon (naturally), orange peel, and (also naturally) coriander. Seeking a response from the brewers, the sensory notes include words like citrusy, fresh, and a well-balanced beer by including (aforementioned) orange peel and coriander. Released later this month, Cosmic Collaboration Belgian-style Witbier will be available on draft and in 16-ounce cans wherever you see Ecliptic beers, starting August 26th.

Besides releasing August 26th, Ecliptic is hosting a release party the week of September 10th, from 6 pm - 7 pm. If you like countless individuals, lucky enough to be working from home, you know what a virtual happy hour is. Ecliptic Brewing Company is no stranger to working from home, which is why last quarter, they hosted a virtual release party in celebration of their collaboration with Portland brewer, Ruse Brewing.

Recognizing many of the beers showcased by Ruse, were absent at nearby bottleshops, Ecliptic has sought help from Seattle’s Chuck’s Hop Shop, to provide the beers featured during the release party in Washington.  Residing in Seattle’s Chuck’s Hop Shop (in the Central District), anyone who lives in or around Seattle, who wishes to join the party and drink the beers showcased, should stop in. However, if you live in or around the Portland areas, are asked to stop into Ecliptic Brewing’s pub and recover the beers there.

Ecliptic Brewing Company is located at 825 N Cook Street in Portland, Oregon. For more information including releases, news, hours, and more, visit http://eclipticbrewing.com/
