Black Raven Brewing releases Splinters, Barrel-aged Strong Scottish Ale, to the masses.

Returning to Redmond, Black Raven Brewing Company releases their barrel-aged scotch ale - Splinters.

Aged in "various whiskey barrels", Splinters is the breweries Second Sight Strong Scotch Ale, given a time out for many months before being birthed to the world. Not long after, the beer is purged from the wooden-barrels before being blended together and aged in stainless steel vessels. The end result is a beer that rewards the imbiber with warmth while inspiring thoughts of weather in the Pacific Northwest.

Available in limited quantities both on draft and in bottles, this year's edition was aged with barrels from Seattle's Westland Distillery's "cask exchange program. At 10.8%, this beer will no doubt disappear quickly and is available today.
