Pike Brewing Company expands availability of Entire Imperial Stout into 12-ounce cans.

Originally called a "Three Threads", where the publican would blend one part strong ale (aged up to 18 months) with one part fresh beer and one part fresh ale, this unique beer was the original "house beer". Later renamed to Entire, by brewery Ralph Harwood, the beer was (in some respects) the forefather to today's Porter. Brewed in the 18th century, the Entire would quickly become popular among the working man. Some even say the beer acquired the new name, Porter, after those who delivered the beer in barrels to pubs or hiked the streets of London. Pike Brewing Company, a supporter of beer's complex history, was happy to re-introduce the name Entire, with the release of their limited-edition beer over 10 years ago.

Brewed with ESB, Maris Otter, and Roasted mats, Pike Entire uses Centennial, Chinook, and Amarillo hops which contribute a level of IBU (International Bittering Units) more associated with a warming Strong Ale or rich India Pale Ale. The result is a beer that one part XXXXX Stout, one part Whiskey barrel-aged Imperial Stout. At around 11.6% (2019), Pike Brewing Company's Entire will test your restraint as you enjoy sip after sip, paired with the seasonal transition from Autumn into Winter. Did the brewery happen to mention they would be canning this year's Entire?

Available, exclusively, at Pike Brewing Company's three locations; eager imbibers can consume draughts of Entire before taking home a (no-doubt) prized four-pack of 12-ounce cans home. Those who neither live within driving distance of the brewery will have to wait until November when the brewery releases Entire throughout Washington in both cans and on draft. Pike Brewing Company is located at 1415 1st Avenue in Seattle's Downtown neighborhood. For more information, including hours and current menus, visit http://www.pikebrewing.com.
