Portland Brewing Company announces the closure of their taproom and restaurant.

On Tuesday, November 6th, the Portland Brewing Company announced the closure of their restaurant and taproom. This news no doubt will shock long-time supporters of the taproom and restaurant as well as the brewery, that has inspired countless consumers and brewers for over 30 years.

The timing couldn't be worse given the brewery's recent rebranding coupled with the recent medal at Colorado's Great American Beer Festival.

Portland is a challenging restaurant market, so we made the choice to focus on what we do best; brewing & selling great beer through our sales team, wholesaler partners and retailers.

We thank all our employees for bringing a love of beer and great service to work every day. We have provided staff with severance in recognition of their hard work and contributions. We also extend a big thank you to our customers, for their support over the years. We will miss you all.

...

Thank you for your support over the years, and we hope you will continue to enjoy our delicious beers at your favorite pub.

Those seeking to purchase kegs of their beers can still do so at the brewery, while the brewery surveys other options to put their brewers in front of consumers.
