Beer Release: WA: Coming Soon (Again) … Foggy Noggin Chief Lightfoot Irish-style Red Ale

Word has arrived that Foggy Noggin will be re-releasing their Spring seasonal, Chief Lightfoot Irish Red. Brewed as an homage to Irish Red Ales, this 5.5% beer will have a limited run of 6-8 weeks.

Starting on Saturday May 5th, you are invited to swing into the brewery’s tasting room to enjoy a pint or fill up a growler, of Chief Lightfoot.

Additionally the brewery wants to remind you that The Jerk Station Caribbean-style food truck will be onsite, serving up sandwiches (cash-only) as a celebration of this release.

Suggested Guidelines by the Brewers Association

Irish-style red ales range from light red-amber-copper to light brown in color. These ales have a medium hop bitterness and flavor. They often don’t have hop aroma. Irish-style red ales have low to medium candy-like caramel malt sweetness and may have a balanced subtle degree of roast barley or roast malt character and complexity.  Irish-style Red Ales have a medium body. The style may have low levels of fruity-ester flavor and aroma. Diacetyl should be absent or at very low levels. Chill haze is allowable at cold temperatures. Slight yeast haze is acceptable for bottle-conditioned products.

Brewery Description

Every fall, Chief Lightfoot would adorn his full traditional garb and dance each Saturday afternoon. People would come from all over the world to watch and enjoy. His legacy is remembered in Foggy Noggin’s Irish Red Ale. The reddish hue brings this quaffable ale to your attention, the smooth, rich, rounded malty back-bone warms your senses, and the hint of dry bitterness in the finish makes you wish you had another pint. I am Indian, I dance. This is my dance.
