“Our team is so proud to be included among the winners on this prestigious list,” said Matt Speckenbach, head brewer at Hopworks. “We’re especially proud that our brand-new Beestly Organic Honey Porter was recognized with a gold medal—our team created an outstanding brew and we can’t wait to share it with more people!”

The New York International Beer Competition is unique in that the brews are judged by a trade-only blind panel. The tasters—buyers, importers, retail buyers and restaurateurs—are industry-savvy and passionate about good beer and knowledgeable about what makes a truly marketable brew. This year’s 16-person judging panel evaluated over 800 submissions from 14 countries.
