Garden Path Fermentation announces two great releases in Old School and Strong Fruit Ale.

Press Release

Garden Path Fermentation in Skagit Valley, WA has released two new beers: The Old School the New - Barrel Aged Edition and The Strong Fruit Ale, two beers that are surprisingly out of their traditional wheelhouse.

The Old School the New is a beer that draws inspiration from what IPA once was, using some of the richer, darker malts that Skagit Valley Malting has to offer, and an abundance of soft, mild, Pacific Northwest-grown noble-type hops, all fermented with 100% native yeast. This, their newest version of the beer, underwent a semi-spontaneous fermentation that kicked off in a coolship, fermented in an open-top foudre, and finished in oak puncheons. The beer was left in puncheons for 9 months before dry-hopping with locally grown whole-flower hops and then packaged. Bottle conditioned with local honey for 7 months prior to release.

The Strong Fruit Ale is a high gravity beer that was fermented dry by our native house yeast, aged in oak puncheons, and then blended before being refermented with loads of burnt clover honey, foraged blackberries, and local Italian plums. The beer bottle-conditioned with local honey for 7 months prior to release. This beer is newly available for sale at Garden Path's taproom, as well as throughout the region and beyond.
