Planning for mid-Summer 2021, Ecliptic Brewing announces "The Moon Room" and expanded production at their recently acquired second location.

Today, Portland brewery Ecliptic Brewing Company has announced the upcoming expansion of their production operation with the addition of a second location. The previous home of beloved Base Camp Brewing Company, at 930 SE Oak Street, Ecliptic is excited about their five-year lease.

With the newly acquired space, the brewery intends to focus on brewing and packaging. Besides brewing, canning, and logistics, the brewery intends to develop more lagers given the location already supports this style of beer. But that doesn’t mean the brewery isn’t focused on producing their Limited Release series, Pyxis Pilsner, or any other beers developed at their ‘mother ship’ location. Answer the unasked question about why, Ecliptic Brewing Company owner John Harris stated and with optimism.

We’ve been talking about opening another location for a long time now, so we’re really stoked about this opportunity. There’s a lot of work ahead to make it happen, but the team is excited for growth.

It’s no secret that the original Ecliptic Brewing location has suffered under the strain to support the demand for their limited edition release, their always-evolving Vega series IPA, and of course their seasonal releases. For the brewers and staff at the current production brewery, they are excited for the opportunity to expand. Excitedly Ecliptic Brewing’s owner also shared this.

A new location allows for so many possibilities – more events, new beers and menu options, and maybe even expanded distribution, Overall, this new location will allow us to create more joy in the universe, which is what we’re here to do.

Besides a production brewery at their new location, there are plans to open a taproom, called The Moon Room, featuring an onsite food truck, and a full bar (pending licensing). As always, the brewery will continue providing local and “hyper-seasonal” dishes along with less pretentious edibles and desserts all derived in-house.

For now, with the uncertainty surrounding indoor/outdoor accommodations, decided by state, county, and city health officials, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, look for the Moon Room to open in a few months.
