With Spring a few weeks away, Bellingham’s Chuckanut Brewery and Kitchen is releasing familiar favorites and new inspirations for you to sample.

Starting with a new release, the brewery is happy to announce Zealander Pilsner.

Brewed to be a sessionable pilsner, made with New Zealand hops, Rakau and Wait-Iti, the beer reminds one of stonefruit, lemons, limes, and a unique “crisp, hoppy” flavor that will pair well with a slice of pizza. But the brewery understands if you can’t make it up to Bellingham to try this with their wood fire-oven pizzas. Which is why the brewery is happy to share that Zeek’s Pizza, their collaboration partner on this Pilsner, will feature it throughout their many locations. Visit a location today.

Following up on their latest collaboration, the brewery releases a timely Irish Dry Stout, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Being a German-inspired brewery one wouldn’t expect something so festive outside of Oktoberfest. But the brewers are firm believers there is more to be than clean, crisp, lagers; which is why they have this fun, festive, stout for you to try.

Brewed with a traditional, Irish, recipe including roasted malts, Chuckanut’s Irish Dry Stout has notes of espresso, while finishing dry and crisp. If this ale reminds you another St. Patrick-themed Stout, then the brewery has done their job.

Moving along, the brewery is happy to release a beer unique to March - the Marzen.

Brewed long before March and historically stored in ice caves, before being served at beer gardens, throughout Germany; Marzen is smooth beyond comparison, with a sweet and spicey flavor which complements the strong toffee aromatics. Consider Marzen as your companion as you explore a plate of ribs, a finely prepared burger, or anything you might enjoy on the grill or barbecue.

Finally, the brewery reminds you that Doppelbock and Citra Leaf Pilsner are still here, in case you have put off plans to visit the brewery. With a quick refresher, the brewery had this to say about both of their February offerings.

...Third in our big bier series this is a smooth, dark rich lager with lots of dark, dried fruit flavors and a balanced clean finish. Watch out for this beer with its 7.4% ABV it’s a lot easier to drink than you think!

… Using Yakima Chief Citra Leaf hops in a basic Chuckanut Pilsner recipe this beer is for the hophead that wants a clean, citrus inspired crispy Pilsner. Chuckanut intends to continue to brew this delightful hoppy lager year round. If you don’t see it in your favorite beer joint, ask for it. It’s becoming a big favorite of Chuckanut fans.
