Out in the wild, Fort George Brewery releases Magnanimous IPA and 1,001 Years of Silence Mexican Chocolate Imperial Stout.

Half-way through the month of November and Fort George Brewing is putting on an exhibition with the latest release announcements.

Starting this past Saturday, November 9th, the brewery has released their 2019-edition of Magnanimous IPA.

Described by the brewery as a "one-off gem", Magnanimous is not only brewed with Simcoe and Chinook hops but also hand-picked Grand Fir tips from nearby farm, Earth & Sky's Christmas trees. At 7% ABV, Magnanimous IPA will compliment your next holiday gathering or tree trimming. The brewery would like to give thanks to Earth & Sky Farm's owners - Tim & Jana Ensign for hosting this fun picking event, benefitting the brewery and of course providing Magnanimous its unique aroma.

Road-tripping back to the brewery, Fort George is happy to announce the release of 1,001 Year of Silence.

Brewed as an homage to Mexican-style Chocolate Imperial Stouts, this edition of YoS was aged in Bourbon barrels for a year before being transferred into the icon, Fort George, bottles.

When you look into the silence, what do you taste? The infinite expanse of spiced possibilities? Warm peppered earthiness of Pasilla and Ancho Chiles? Enveloping layers of molasses, brown sugar and cocoa nibs? Behold an awe inspiring union of stout and savor that will leave you speechless… For 1,001 years.

1,0001 Years of Silence is 12.5% ABV.

Look for 1,001 Years of Silence and Magnanimous IPA, while supplies list, at the brewery or select retailers.

Fort George Brewery is located at 1483 Duane Street in Astoria, Oregon. For more information, including food menus and the latest draft and bottles, visit https://fortgeorgebrewery.com/

About Fort George Brewery

Founded in March 1811 by Captain Jonathan Thorn, Astoria was the Pacific Fur Company’s primary trading post in the Pacific Northwest. Astoria was renamed Fort George after King George III while under temporary British Authority during the war of 1812. At over 200 years, Astoria is the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies.

Since its inception, Astoria has been battered with a series of fires and industry collapses. In 2007 Fort George Brewery + Public house was established. Even though Sweet Virginia (our small batch brewery) was just a wee lady, she helped bring some of the thrum of hard work back to this pocket of the city.

In 1924 the Fort George Building was erected on the original settlement site of Fort Astoria, operating as an automotive repair shop through the early 1990’s. Briefly abandoned and sadly neglected, the Fort George Building has been revitalized and is now home to the Blue Scorcher Bakery and Fort George Brewery + Public House.
