image from Belgianfest 2011 courtesy our Flickr page If you haven’t been paying attention, then you probably didn’t know that Belgian Fest was almost upon you. In fact you only have a few more weekends to go online and purchase a ticket.

Yes, there are still tickets available for purchase. Whether it’s for session one (from 12pm to 4pm) or session two (from 5:30pm to 9:30pm) it would be wise to just get a ticket.

To the uninitiated Belgian Fest is a rare opportunity to see your favorite Washington breweries step up and show the out-of-towners a thing or two about Belgian-style / Belgian-influenced beer. Mind you we aren’t isolating this discussion to Wild Ales or Farmhouse Ales. Instead we blissfully assume there will be a cornucopia of Belgian-style beers to choose from.

With names like saison, dubbel, quadrupel, tripel, strong dark, or abbey; there are plenty to choose from. Or if you are a fan of descriptors then how about raisin, fig, brown sugar, dark cherries, honey, wheat, oats, or currant. Heck there might even be a kriek, framboise, or barrel-aged something to snack on.

Belgianfest highlights the fascinating beer culture of Belgium by showcasing 60+ Belgian-style beers crafted by Washington breweries. Featured beer styles include Tripels, Dubbles, Saisons, Wits, Abbeys and Lambics. All of the beers will be brewed with Belgian yeast.
