image of St. Patrick's Day Neighborhood party at North 45 Pub courtesy of their site Portland, OR - Despite the holiday's imagery that is collected from the date, St. Patrick's Day can be a fun holiday to share a drink with a friend or stranger. This year as they did last year, The North 45 Pub will be hosting their "famous" neighborhood party.

With extended tent hours (open till midnight) and the pub remaining open till 2 AM, there is going to be some happy times had by all. Starting at 6:00 PM music will be provided by the Robbie Laws Trio, as well as the occasional bagpiper.

As an added bonus, while you stuff your face with Irish food and enjoy the drink specials, you can smile a bit more knowing that a portion of the $5 cover will go towards the OSU Foundation.

About North 45 Pub

Another spirited, warm and inviting door has opened amongst the profusion of artsy boutiques, shops and cafes in one of Portland’s favorite neighborhoods. North 45 lures you in with tastes, sights and sounds from around our world and genuinely happy faces welcoming you in to theirs.

hunterwithtaps.jpg The proprietors of North 45 are Josh Johnston and Jim Hall, two travel mates who have very different and eclectic life stories but have come together to bring Portland their very own upscale travel pub. The idea was born while backpacking through South America together in 2005. “We wanted to incorporate the intimacy and social elements of a pub, without labeling ourselves as an Irish or English pub. We figured a travel themed pub is something that everybody can relate to and/or be the source of inspiration.”

North 45, inspired by the pub’s GPS location on the 45th parallel, is the hot spot to meet your neighbor or people watch with your friends while sipping one of the seasoned bartender’s specialties like the Chocolate Martini or White Cosmo. It is also the place for a candle lighted dinner for two over one of the eight differently prepared mussels and pommes frites dishes paired with a glass of wine from Argentina or possibly Australia. And for the beer lovers in the NW neighborhood, don’t forget to take a look at the list of local and abroad brews including a menu of Belgian Trappist beers.

The food menu will take you into an wintry evening state of fulfillment offering you meals with locally inspired flavors and warmth of a friend’s home. Mussel dishes inspired by chef Chris Hunter of New York’s In Season Bistro offer a new twist to Portland’s evolving food scene. You’ll find a variety of foods for every palate from a delectable spinach salad with goat cheese, dried cranberries, and hazelnuts from the owners family farm to garlic roasted half chicken plate. Not to be missed? The daily prepared, savory, scratch-made soups and a list of drink specials from an array of geographical destinations that may take you back to one of your past travels. –source, North 45 Pub
